Truly blessed as a dad, partner, godfather, friend: Bryant and Genevieve changed my world for the better back in 2009 & 2010 respectively.

Genuinely thankful to contribute to their lives and watch them matriculate to the next phases of their respective lives.

Can’t begin to thank Summer & Carol “Gaga”, nor Maggie Viele and of course their mom Heather & her awesome partner Mark Bailey and his kiddos for being such positive presence in their lives. It takes a village and I sure am thankful to be part of it.😌❤️🌟🎉

Good afternoon everyone.

(Shared this via email with our respective Loud Jamz show performers, but wanted to make sure to reach everyone interested in the show to let you know about the need to reschedule due to impending winter storm Monday.)

Apologies for the impersonal mass email. Please feel to respond directly to me with any questions but let’s not reply ALL as I’m already blowing up your email enough.

This roster of players is such an awesome assemblage of so many folks I truly admire and of course think the world of as people and I want to start by expressing, on behalf of our entire Loud Jamz coordinator team how grateful we are to each of you.

I am so sorry for the delay in reaching out to everyone regarding the show specifics and impending weather concerns, but we’ve been in a bit of a holding pattern working with the venue watching this winter storm’s projected arrival (seems ridiculous to talk about rescheduling considering the beautiful weather this morning, but we all know Nashville’s fickle weather) sometime Monday/Tuesday and we just feel it’s best to err on the side of caution and “punt” the show to a later date out of concern for you our friends/colleagues and of course your significant others and friends who we wouldn’t want to put in jeopardy unnecessarily.

As of earlier this afternoon, Chuck Wick’s (my old boss/Bandmate during my years as his drummer and bandleader), the lead in the ownership group of Woolworth Theatre and Producer of the Shiners show, gave me the green light for a new show date of March 4th. So we are all good for that evening.

The reason for the significant gap in the new date is completely my fault: I am an adjunct instructor for several universities, one of which, NSCC, I begin teaching a Monday night, seven week 6-9pm Intro to Music course Monday after next (1/22) through the last Monday of February (2/26).

Also, Carrie Glenn, our end all everything music director (without her this show really doesn’t happen as I’m sure many of you know) also teaches at NSCC and she starts a different section of the same course Monday, March 11th.

We both have a number of other obligations teaching-wise on Tuesday’s and Wednesday and we know that you all have schedules that get busier as the week progresses as well hence my longtime insistence on the shows being on Mondays.

All this to say, Monday March 4th is our only real option in the first quarter of the year and why I’m emphasizing that date with the venue.

Where the existing show is concerned: Our goal is to keep as much (hopefully ALL) of the lineup exactly the same, but just on the new March 4th date. That is of course completely contingent on each of your availability.

We fully realize with this talented roster you are all busy, in demand musicians and the later in the year we go the more likelihood of you having other obligations, but we want to afford you the right of first refusal with your existing song assignments on the new show date.

Completely understand if you are unavailable and our team and I will absolutely hit you up for another future show. (And there will be more, regardless my reticence and burn out. Tyson, Carrie, Kevin, Andrew and my gal Summer insist! Ha! Not to mention how wonderfully encouraging so many of you have consistently been about doing the Jamz shows.)

Anyhow, I always feel like an imposition asking of any of you (past and present participants) in donating your time and talent year after year and as such I just want to again express my gratitude and commitment to at minimum working with our fantastic team to provide as enjoyable a performance and hang experience as possible. (Tyson reminded me last night that the hang is what it’s about and we all enjoy getting together to play funky, challenging, different music with awesome people we rarely get to see. He always has the best perspective. Love Mr. T!)

You truly are some of the best musicians and people in our business.

Thank you for everything and again, my sincere apologies for the rescheduling delay.

Tom Hurst

Yesterday’s memory pics with Bryant (it’s not his birthday by the way, that’s July 15th, sorry for the confusion 😅) got me looking at others.

This was a fun one from some years back with four of my all times Favorite friends/musicians: Amy Dalley Sizemore, Chris Nix, Stacy Sizemore & Jeff Coffey/Jeff Coffey Music (and my head peeking out from the drums on the far right 🤪🥁) playing Amy & Jack’s adopted “home town” St. Augustine on a NYE.

Can’t even imagine life or music-making without each of these talented, special folks. Forever in their debt. Here’s to a healthy, prosperous and fun-filled 2024 to everyone. 😁🥁🎶♾️🐊
