OBi and I had a nice walk in the drizzly rain today. I took a quick nap while everyone was getting ready for work.

Hodge and I are taking OBi to work now. I enjoy getting to ride around.

Find something healthy that you enjoy doing today and go do that.

Today we remember those we lost to a terrorist attack those years ago. OBi told me how she and Hodge had walked the sacred footprint of Ground Zero on their trip to NYC, and seeing the names of each life cut short to evil. She said it was humbling to say the least. Let's pause and relect on those no longer with us, and to give thanks for those still here.

On another, less somber note, peep the picture. It only tool five years for us to be in the same room together without incident or barrier. And while OBi doesn't trust us to be alone, it makes her smile we're working through our issues. Goes to show you anything is possible with God's help and positive support from others. Never know.... one day Piper and I might even sit on the couch together. One can hope.

I got to go on my first weekend trip. Cool little place South of Chattanooga. There are so many new smells and things to explore outside. I was so excited and nervous.

I held the forte down here today while the fam went to the Aquarium. I was a really good boy. OBi and I had a nice walk when they got back, but boy it was hot outside.

We're all relaxing inside now: OBi is reading MARILYN'S SONG by our cousin, Steve Dicus. She says it's a great book and would highly recommend it.

I'll probably get another walk or two in before bedtime tonight, and maybe spend some time watching the water out on the screened porch here.

September is recovery month.

For all my recovery peeps, recover outloud. Save lives. Keep pushing forward and lifting others us.

Find a recovery community. Remember, Hope in Recovery meets Sundays at 1pm (thank you Daniel for chairing the meeting today). Recovery Church Hickman meets everyother Tuesday, next service is Sept. 3rd, with a meal at 6pm, worship at 7pm, and Open Share Meeting at 8pm. Thank you to Hope Church for allowing us to use your facility.

Today and yesterday were hot ones. Hope everyone who is having to work outside or be outside is staying hydrated.

Join me and say a prayer for those who are still out on the streets lost in their addiction. May they realize there is . Let's pray they reach out to someone who can help them and they turn their lives around to healing and recovery.

08/25/24 - posting on 08/26/24

A day late, but I had big day yesterday... I GOT TO GO TO CHURCH.

Yesterday our church, Hope Church, had it's annual service at Nacome Camp (outside so I could go). It was a beautiful service. The youth did an amazing job with worship. I tried to learn some of the sign language, but I could tell they had been practicing and we're way ahead of me. Pastor Devin Pickard delivered a wonderful message. I plan on getting my paws dirty this week.

I got to visit with my friend, Ella, and meet some new friends. I had a nice ride in the car, and even got to visit with our friends the Greesons and hang out by their pool.

It's been a good day today so far. Had a quick walk with Hodge then napped a bit while the fam went for breakfast.

As you can see from the picture, I'm exhausted. I chased the vacuum... er I mean I helped OBi vacuum the living room, and that tires a pup out. OBi always laughs at me because I bark and try to protect her. It's honestly one of the few times I ever bark, which means it's serious business.

I also enjoyed some time basking in the sunshine. What a beautiful day the Lord made.

I think we're going to grill and maybe spend some time on the back porch this evening, and continue to count blessings.

Hope everyone is having a good day and maybe you'll be able to catch an afternoon nap like me.

It's been quite a while since I posted a diary entry. We've had a lot going on at home, and work, and our church, Hope Church, and our recovery group, Hope in Recovery . We even are volunteering at a new church for recovery, Recovery Church Hickman!

This year alone has been a lot of ups and downs, including saying good-bye to Paw pa Robert and cousin, Stephen. There has been sadness there and grief, but knowing we will see them again someday gives me comfort.

Dad has been working hard. He's a great salesman and we get to hang out a lot. I know God is going to continue to work in our lives - working all things for the good.

OBi has even put her wedding planner hat back on for Abby & Joseph and also Danielle & Greg. She says she's rusty, but is enjoying planning again too. Hodge has been busy at work and playing some golf.

I'm resting now and feeling loved.

I haven't had any diary entries in quite some time. I have been a busy fella - what with morning walks, daily naps, snacks, and afternoon romps in the back yard.

Since I last wrote, my Dad is home!!! He completed one year in HCM and today has 19 months sober. That's 577.917 days. 832200.912 minutes.
49932054.7 seconds.

I know it's not easy, and he says he doesn't count, but me and OBi, we count every single one. We are so grateful to have him home and to be able to laugh with him and watch him start to build a life for himself.

Thankful for God's grace and the army of warriors who love us.

Enjoy this beautiful Fall day. The sunrise 🌅 and colors of the leaves 🍃 🍂 🍁 are stunning. Give thanks.

I had a nice walk between rain showers this afternoon with OBi, Will, and Caleb.

OBi says it's only a little over a month until Dad is home! I'm praying every day for that day. We have lots of playing and naps to catch up on.

I got my afternoon snuggles in on OBi's lap. It's been a good day.
