OUR MISSION

To inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its government, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the

United States of America will serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America is one of the oldest and largest fraternal organizations in the country. Since its inception in 1868, the Order of Elks has grown to include more than 1 million men and women in more than 2,100 communities. The BPO Elks is committed to the ideals of charity and patriotism. To that end, Elks have now disbursed, over the course of the Order’s history, more than $3.6 billion in cash, goods, and services to the nation’s youth, its veterans, the disadvantaged and handicapped, and to individuals and groups in support of patriotic and civic programs. Annually the BPO Elks give more than $200 million in this fashion, and the Order ranks as one of the largest private providers of college scholarships in the nation.

We'd like to extend our gratitude to the The Natick Elks, Lodge #1425, which provided a generous donation to Heroes In Transition to support our equine programs for military families and veterans.

Representatives from the Elks met with our President and Co-founder Cyndy Jones and our Executive Director Nicole Spencer to learn more about our work to assist the military community through impactful services not provided by government agencies.

Lodge 1425 has proudly donated to the Heroes in Transition program; a local nonprofit committed to helping service members and their families as they transition back into their communities.

The Beacon Grant generously allowed our lodge to assist the Canine Co-Pilot program which works to pair veterans with service dogs as well as veteran dogs to become therapy animals. The $4000 donation will provide for numerous companions for our local veterans.

More information about the services available through HIT can be found at
