After taking a year off to move states I am finally back to doing what I love - redesigning those vintage gowns!
This rehersal dress is made over from a 1989 gown. The high neck and large 80s sleeves have been removed. The remainder of the skirt and train will be made into a robe. Photos of that next time!

It is with mixed feelings that I must announce that Alison Anne Bridal is moving to the gulf coast as of the first of the year.
Never fear though. I am not leaving you without help. My long time friend and seamstress Karen Lyn Parker will be stepping in to aid you with your formal alteration needs. During December we will be transitioning the shop from mine to her's. Her business is Treble Cord Bridal and I know you will love her. She is scheduling clients for the new year now, so feel free to call her.
I have had so many wonderful clients over the years. I thank each and every one of you for helping to make my business so successful.

For anyone who has been trying to reach me by phone - I am out of town and apparently out of an AT&T service area. I have been here before and not had this issue. So sorry.

Grandmother's first communion dress has become a three piece christening set for future generations to cherish. I so love re-imagining/repurposing vintage garments!

I would like to take a moment to thank all of my clients who stuck with me during this time of canceled ,and ever changing appointments. Here are some guidelines as I gradually begin to see clients again.
I will be limiting the number of guests to 2 per appointment, and everyone will be required to wear a mask while in my shop. Thank you so much for your continued patronage!

Finally, a use for the vintage, embroidered linens that I can't stop collecting.

A note to all of my dear clients. I know that for all brides nothing is as exciting, and seems more important then your upcoming wedding. However, If you don't feel well ( or anyone who is going to come along to your appointment is feeling icky) PLEASE stay home. I will absolutely make a new appointment for you and have your gown ready by your wedding date. Thank you ❤️

One of the worst parts of my job? Trying to fix a previous alteration that was poorly done by someone else.
In this case the dress needed to be taken in down the sides. Instead of using the side seams, someone simply cut right through all the layers of the gown, including the lace. Then folded the front piece over the back piece and hand stitched it down. Not only does it look bad, it changed th angle of the strap.Ugh. Why, why, why? Speed.
To do it correctly would mean taking the bodice off of the skirt, painstakingly removing the lace from the side seams, taking in three separate seams and then putting it all back together. 2 hours at least. Cutting it up the sides - 10minutes.
And yes, this was done by a "seamstress" at a bridal shop.

Just a little PSA for anyone perusing my page. Over the past 8 months I have had 3 email messages via a site called "Fash" asking for quotes. Here is what you should know about Fash. In order to answer these emails I have to purchase "credits" from the company. Each email "costs" me 2 credits. Now, It's not super expensive. Each answered email would be just under 2.50$, but I'd have to buy a "pack" of credits. $$ At 1 email every 3 months it's not really a good investment for me.
Also, the quote requests are always for the types of sewing that I do not do. Things like hemming jeans, replacing zippers, and general mending. I have these services listed on the page as things I do not do, but I guess people don't read all the way through. To summarize, Please don't contact me through "Fash". Spread the word!
