Hello Friends! It's a soggy day in the neighborhood but it looks like we may be done with rain for the day, with only a 40% or less chance of more showers later this evening and, of course, it's nice and dry in the Silver Dome. FYI to those looking for food tonight that the Speakeasy is unexpectedly closed for the rest of the month, reopening July 1st, so we'll grill some brats and have a couple sides available, just in case. We're ramping up to next Saturday's FREE live music extravaganza, a customer appreciation party of sorts, and really looking forward to the appearance of DAVE RAVE, whose Gold and Platinum selling Canadian band, TEENAGE HEAD, are considered by many to be the Ramones of Canadian. Hello Friends. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day in the neighborhood for tomorrow's DEEP BLUES TRIBUTE TO CHRIS JOHNSON, 50 degrees or so and dry, bring it! And of course the music and fellowship are going to be amazing with DUWAYNE BURNSIDE, LEFT LANE CRUISER, KENT BURNSIDE, ALEXANDER LARSON (AKA CRANKSHAFT) and AARON KAPLAN (in reverse order of appearance). Doors at 5, music from 6 - 11 or so, $25.

As part of our tribute to Chris, we're going to be offering the last of his memorabilia (much of it was given away at the Deep Blues Festival in Clarksdale last month) to attendees in exchange for voluntary contributions to Chris and Kristen's "Angel fund," Heaven's to Betsy, a charity set up to help less fortunate Clarksdale area residents and Deep Blues community members (see attached link). We "rescued" a Spider John Koerner / Charlie Parr poster from his collection in Clarksdale, had them autograph it, and then framed it (see attached photo). This could be yours for a more generous donation, say $50 or something like that? There will also be some Left Lane Cruiser and Crankshaft posters available from Chris' collection, which artists will be on hand to autograph those for you, and there are other reasonably desirable items up for grabs too. Hello Friends! It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood and we are excited as all get-out (whatever that is) to announce the details of our season-ending, season-long 90th anniversary celebration on SAT, NOV 4th - A DEEP BLUES TRIBUTE TO CHRIS JOHNSON. Many of you knew Chris as the founder of the Deep Blues Festival or, with his wife Kristen, as the proprietor of Bayport BBQ, where he also presented the artists and music he loved. To honor the man, we assembled a pretty amazing bill from among the artists he loved best, including DUWAYNE BURNSIDE (son of legendary Bluesman, RL Burnside), the last artist that Chris presented earlier this year at The Den, his venue in Clarksdale, MS. Duwayne will be joined by KENT BURNSIDE (grandson of RL), as well as ALEX "CRANKSHAFT" LARSON, AARON KAPLAN and, last but certainly not least, one of Chris' all-time favorites (and ours too), LEFT LANE CRUISER. Chris was instrumental in LLC's career and, to show their appreciation, they wrote a song for and about him entitled, what else, "MR. JOHNSON." Doors at 5, music at 6, $30. Hello Friends and welcome to another beautiful day in the neighborhood! A little late with this, but thanks to all who came out and all who made our BALLROOM BLITZ such a rousing success! A one-of-a-kind event in a one-of-a-kind place, a real Rock and Roll Circus of entertainment, an old time "Happening," and the appearance of the legendary BARON VON RASCHKE was certainly the icing on the cake. Thanks again to one and all, and now for news of your next chance to rock out at the historic Silver Dome - a R-N-R Halloween party on FRI, OCT 27th, it's BANDS IN THE BONEYARD featuring one of our very favorite area (for now) Rock bands on the rise, MOTHERWIND, along with their pals, PUBLIC MELTDOWN, A LONG WAY BACK, and THE KEYSTONES. It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood and we're super stoked for tomorrow's festivities, our BALLROOM BLITZ, featuring matches from ALL-OUT PRO WRESTLING, a pre-release screening of THE CLAW, a documentary about legendary wrestler BARON VON RASCHKE, and a personal appearance by the Baron himself (!), but don't sleep on the music portion of this event. HASTINGS 3000 is a futuristic retro groover who wrote some of the music for The Claw and he's going to knock you out with his amazing one man band routine from high atop our "Cooler Stage." Hello Friends. It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood, and we're plenty excited for next week's BALLROOM BLITZ, including a slate of matches from ALL-OUT PRO WRESTLING, some live music from HASTINGS 3000, and a pre-release screening of THE CLAW, a documentary about BARON VON RASCHKE, who will also be making a personal appearance to sign autographs and take photos with fans. But today, we honored the life and legacy of LOUIE KESSLER, who together with SHIRLEY, his wife of 69 years, was the owner and steward of this amazing Silver Dome Ballroom from 1972 to 2000. His was a life well-lived and he and Shirley have left a lasting legacy, not just by their stewardship of the Silver Dome, but also by their many contributions to the Neillsville community. I'll never forget his sage advice to "just keep 'er between the pines," as we were leaving the Silver Dome late that first night, and I will remember him fondly for the rest of my days. Rest in peace, Louie, you've earned it!

Hello Friends! It's another beautiful day in the neighborhood and we've got some preliminary news to share about an amazingly fun event coming up on Sat, Sep 23rd! Anybody recognize this handsome fellow? Why, that's THE CLAW, of course, BARON VON RASCHKE himself. The Baron was one of the first ever pro wrestling villains and is the subject of a documentary film coming out later this year (or early next year) called, what else, THE CLAW! The film was directed by Neillsville (WI) grad, Philip Harder, so we've been able to arrange a pre-release screening of the film at the Silver Dome on Sat, Sep 23rd in conjunction with a slate of pro wrestling matches presented by ALL-OUT PRO WRESTLING. We'll also be adding some live music to the mix from our "Cooler Stage," and, get this(!), we've also arranged personal appearances by Director Philip Harder and The Baron himself! So, mark your calendars for Sep 23rd if you want to see and meet a bona fide wrestling legend, and enjoy some pro wrestling, some live music, and a movie to boot! Needless to say (but we'll say it anyway), this promises to be a real hoot! More details and a ticket link coming soon so, stay tuned, and don't forget to love each other!

Hello Friends and, WOW, what a great debut for the inaugural BATTLE FOR THE NORTHWOODS! And, YES, we're definitely doing that one again, so mark your calendars for the first Saturday of June 2024 for the second annual Battle for the Northwoods. Many thanks to the staff and everyone who came out to make it a such a success! Special thanks to Jon Kaiser and all the folks connected to the NORTHWOODS ROCK RALLY; thanks to S&S PRO SOUND, Shawn and Cory for a great sounding night; and thanks to all the great bands, including the headliner, WAYLAND, who were smoking hot; and last but not least, congratulations to HUSKY TRUMPET, the winners of the battle who will now be playing the Northwoods Rock Rally later this year! How cool is that?! Up next is what we're calling the SILVER DOME'S 90th BIRTHDAY PARTY on FRIDAY, JUNE 30th, featuring an amazing lineup of THE CACTUS BLOSSOMS, ERIK KOSKINEN, MOLLY MAHER and BECKY KAPELL. Hello Friends! It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood and a great day to rock, so come on out for tonight’s Battle for the Northwoods, doors at 5, music at 6. And a big heads up that the Speakeasy kitchen (not the bar) is closed to the public today due to several private events. To make matters worse, the Wild Cat won’t be open again till later this month due to renovations. So, we’ve got the Speakeasy grilling up some of Frank’s Charcoal Chicken, and we’ll have some brats and sides, but supplies may be limited, so plan accordingly. And don’t forget to love each other!
