YESTERDAY WAS ROUGH! I delivered flowers to a friend- school mate who had received some bad news about her health before Christmas. We talked, we had prayer, we cried and I left her and I prayed and cried more. I came back to the shop and worked through the tears. I set down to my computer after cleaning out my cooler and saw that another friend- school mate had lost her battle with cancer here on earth. Sometimes I question my work path, especially when it comes to having to face all the heartaches of death. I am an empathetic person. So I hurt and feel right along with these families, my heart goes out to them all. We have raised our kids together at the creekside, on the ball fields, at school.
Today I was watching a Randy Travis video and he was talking about all the gifts this life has to offer and how we are called to work with our hands and feet to Glorify God. Ephesians 4:28 Says "Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need". This verse emphasizes the idea of working hard and providing for yourself through honest labor, using ones hands productively. Paul called it ethical behavior " working with your hands is seen as a metaphor for deligent work and avoiding idleness.
I know both of these ladies were and are hard workers. And I intend on doing the same. Working through the hard times. As well as the good times. . It's a snow day and honestly I've got more done on these couple of snow days as I have on sunny days. January to me is a time to "regroup" and prepare for the rest of the year. Get the clutter straighten up. Prepare for the busy seasons. I hope this encourages you to do the same. Life is short. Live it to the fullest. Working hard so you can help others. I don't know about anyone else but sometimes, I feel like I'm on one of those old merry-go-rounds and some brat child is running it as hard as they can possible can go. I'm holding on with all my might my feet are flying in the air, BUT I AM surviving!!! Sometimes life just gets TOO BUSY! That being said. As I sit and reflect on 2024 and that today marks a new beginning I realized I forgot to even celebrate a mild stone. Yesterday marked our 21 year in business. 21 Years ago I took a leap of faith and invested in a business that has been a heart ache, a blessing and a provider for our family for 21 years. They say do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life.
Well by body tells me that's a bunch of bunk🤔, but my heart tells me that is soooo true.
So I want to thank each and every customer who has trusted us to WARM HEARTS WITH FLOWERS!
