9/11 We Remember...

343 firefighters from 75 different firehouses across New York City were killed from the tragedy that hit our country on 9-11. The Nevada Fire Department will pay tribute to these heroes, by posting each photo, around the walls of Gatherings Event Venue this Wednesday, September 11th from 9-11am and 1-6pm. The public is encouraged to come. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided by Bricktown Bakery and Gatherings .

23 years have passed since Americans came together in sadness over the tragedy of 9/11. The Nevada Fire Department and Gatherings Event Center have joined forces in a day to commemorate the 343 FDNY firefighters who passed away from the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center's Twin Towers.

Photographs will be displayed of the 343 firefighters, from 75 different firehouses across New York City who were killed during the assault. Gatherings Event Venue will be open from 9-11am and from 1-6pm on Wednesday, September 11th for the tribute and viewing. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.

From the owner:

After 7 years of growing Farmhouse Catering and specializing in weddings I was ready to venture out into the world of event venue ownership! in other words I was ready for a home. I always knew that I wanted a place with character and charm that reflected and promoted the casual, comfortable yet elegant feel that reflects my brand the best. With the purchase of a 100+ year old downtown building my husband and I set to work on our biggest renovation to date(or as he calls it my biggest pinterest project ever!) It was such a labor of love from the hunting down of vintage chandeliers to constructing bathroom stalls out of old doors to traipsing all over Iowa to collect chairs. Each details was important to me and the final product is what you see today as Gatherings in historic downtown Nevada. I love it when people see it for the first time and say “I cant believe this is in Nevada!” We really are the only one of its kind in Story County and are ready to host your next big gathering!
