I get by with a little help from my friends.

A couple of weeks ago, I was lamenting the fact that I don't have a lot of "real life" friends. By that, I meant like, "friends I go out with in public" and not so much "people who I care about and who care about me" and a new friend of mine who shares my neurodivergent superpower corrected me. She said that it's ok that we build bonds differently. It's ok that I have "facebook friends" that I literally have never met in person that I have "known" for over a decade. It's a big reason why losing access to my "main" facebook account was (and is) so damaging to my mental health.

And then I have a week like last week in Key West. For the first time in a LONG time I don't feel anxiety about "going out" and that is because everyone was so supportive of my shows and my progress and my journey. I literally played amazing shows at TWO places that I was "fired" from (Does anyone really get FIRED in Key West?) and FELT that support. I felt that acceptance. I always seem to find a way back. I find a way to make it work. Most importantly for my superpower: I find a way to make it work FOR ME.

So I flew back to Pittsburgh on Friday (Hurricane be damned!) and drove to Cleveland on Saturday to play a show at Hofbrauhaus Cleveland - My old buddy from the Bar Louie days Aaron is the GM there and it was a chance to work with Dan again. It was just... awesome. Singalong songs and a laid back vibe and again, a staff and crew that could NOT have been easier to work with or more complimentary. While my plans to see some baseball got rained out Sunday, it was still a great reminder that I can be whatever I want to be when I grow up.

Back home which means my co-pilot is back in his happy derpy place.

I feel a bit overwhelmed with all of the "real life" work that needs done, especially with Walk of Love being insanely busy over the next month with wedding gigs. Trying to take some "small bites" today and not overdo things, reminding myself that I am still healing and nowhere near 100% - I have to teach Commander Data how to sort through voiceover jobs or something. Damn him and his cuteness and complete lack of opposable thumbs!

Great catching up with old friends and amazing to make some new ones. Quick pit stop back in the Burgh and then KEY WEST BOUND!

Pops approved.

I am so blessed to get the opportunity to know Samu Anoa'i as I broke into the wrestling business. I believe Pops would approve of how much I have tried to honor the Business and the amazing people that by the Grace of God have tried to help me to learn, grow, evolve, and get to a place where I can pay it forward. Just like Lia Maivia.

Having legit Hall of Fame people put over this "on the fly" show was amazing.

Follow up tomorrow for the neck. Probably (definitely) pushed it too hard driving to Indiana and singing a week after surgery but it wouldn't be me if I said "I can't do it" A rare public show for Walk of Shame on Saturday and then hopping a plane to Vegas to do some wrestling stuff around the Cauliflower Alley Club events. Very excited for the next few weeks, including some gigs in Key West at the end of the month.

Spending the night being monitored but aside from some post surgery pain I am looking and feeling great. Already debating heading to Cleveland for Summerslam this weekend - but this all could be the meds talking. We will see tomorrow! Thank you all for your actual thoughts and prayers.
