We have been going full throttle this spring with projects. This year I’ll be spending A LOT less work and time watering multiple gardens. We have two water points now and a 3rd on the way. WEHOO! I have wanted a flower stand for some time now so we took the water tank out that I once used to water the gardens and Jason rebuilt it into a pretty sweet stand for me. Flowers and veggies are all in and ready for summer!

The last of my spring queens are in 🙌 40+ ranunculus.

13 honeysuckle dug out of my field and transplanted for a back drop boarder around new garden. I just saved $312 on what I could have purchased so I’m feeling blessed for what my property provided for me.

When the tractors hit the fields you know it’s go time! 🙌 I get so pumped when I’m out in my fields working the ground and see them in theirs. Foxy loves it just as much!

Today we honored earth day and planted a tree for the front yard. I also found a way to for the hubs to work on his tractor to till me a nice size garden for more flowers. Poppies, wild flowers, lilies, allium, catmint, Russian Sage.

The cool day called me to start more projects, I love how simple and delicious micro greens are. Today I started broccoli for the microgreens, floret Bees choice dahlias and miscanthus sinensis ornamental grasses.

Flower update! Who’s ready for hardening off Ranunculus season 🙋♀️ such an exciting time seeing my humble lil growing space come to life. I’ve learned so many things over the past year and how I want to explore new ideas and grow a little more. I never dreamed I would even get this far. Working with what you have and adding a little at a time strengthens you. My humble beginnings will pay off on many different levels.

Mother Nature is a heart breaking, grudge holding, chip on the shoulder grumpy back stabbing lady who’s going to watch you put those plants, those seeds in the ground laugh maniacally and send a snow fall. Wait it out my friends don’t fall for false spring. Wait until your last frost date. We got this!

Weew that air bit a little today, walking out to the garden to grab a couple more Wisteria felt like walking through Siberia. The things you’ll do when you get that creative itch. Ivy topiary #2
02/16/2024
Trying something new, making ivy topiary’s I purchased the beautiful Ivy from my faithful Flirty Gardens. I was super nervous breaking the mother Ivy apart but all went well. I also used my wisteria vines to wrap with.

Oh my word 😲
Pulled out my Dahlia tubers yesterday and got some monster clumps. I’ll be doing a lot of surgery to get these separated.
Fun fact: Dahlia tubers are eatable and can taste like a carrot , spicy apple or a water chestnut depending on your soil.

One small goal at a time 🤩

Fall haul, 1st time here WOW it took us both by surprise. It’s a must see and you must leave your money in the car😖 we splurged a little bit today and picked up some hydrangeas, sedum, narcissi bulbs and allium. We had so many annuals this year and need to add more perennials. Gertens has buy 1 pot get one free so we we’re sold on these terracotta pots to over winter my hibiscus tree.

Happy First day of fall🍁
I love how that one just has to stand right out! Now that my out door season is done 😢 I am working on propagating indoor plants. I would love to do a plant swap/bulb/seed party one of these days if anyone would be interested.

Over the last couple of weeks we started clearing out dead trees and underbrush to get our shade garden ready for next year. I want to keep this as natural as possible but have beautiful interest points. What I really want is a beautiful lazy creek bed installed with some water falls. Having a good elevated ridge as a back drop will come in so handy to make this area have a lot of dimension and water flow.

I Finally have a little time to get after a project that I have been dying to get to since I started growing flowers. I am learning this new process of pressing as each flower requires a different time and different heat but so far I am seeing great results. I can’t wait to show you the final product of these dried botanicals.

Engagement pictures are in and they are gorgeous! These two were recently engaged and I am so grateful they said YES to me for being our 1st couples photo shoot. They were an absolutely sweet couple to work with. We also had extremely hot temperatures that day and high sun right over head. Thank you Jose Saul Vasquez and Kaely Vásquez for working your magic with all of the elements to make this day so special.

Things that make you go 🫣
I’ve been so anxious to start my next project of putting in a shade garden and clearing the underbrush and a few trees that are either dead or have been ready to fall. We did eventually get the saw out of the tree, He climb the tree and pulled it back while I pulled the saw out. We’re just going to let that saw chill for a while 😬

I truly love the wedding world so much and I am so excited to announce that I am officially ordained! This has been on my mind for quite a while and now I am going to dive into the next level of this adventure!

Incredible day today! Here is a sneak peak of our 1st photo shoot for engagement pictures. My vision couldn’t have come to life without the help my husband. He has been an amazing partner in helping me building this. And a special thank you to my son inlaw and daughter for doing the photography. You two make a great team! These are not the professionals job just pictures I took. Stay tuned for those in the coming week.
