So I heard it’s national proposal day and I can’t end the day without sharing my proposal story.

November 17, 2017. We were going out to dinner for our 11th anniversary. Before we went to the restaurant he brought me to the jewelry store with strict instructions. “No rings especially the engagement kind”

I left with a ring.🙃 But it wasn’t the ring he had already picked out years ago.

At dinner I kept telling him how I think this is a pretty ring and it could be an engagement ring and he kept telling me no and to stop it.

The way home he was deep in thought and as he pulled into the parking lot at our apartment he was just staring at me. I kept asking him what was wrong. I asked about seven times before he asked me to marry him. In my Prius in the parking lot.

It may not be a glamorous story or the ring traditional but it was perfect. Especially for me.

Two years later:
“Can you believe that we are here, 13 years into our relationship, finally tying the knot. I have known for a while now that you are the one for me but in true Nick fashion I waited to ask you to marry me. ”

I wouldn’t want any of it if it wasn’t in true Nick fashion. ❤️

Hey everyone! Just a quick update. As Christmas is fast approaching (I swear it was October yesterday 😅) I thought it would be the best time to tell everyone about upcoming events taking place that will affect the next coming weeks.

Because of Christmas and New Year's, I will be holding limited hours until January 4th. My first wedding of the year is on January 13th ( I can’t wait!!) followed by my much-anticipated trip to Scottsdale, Arizona for my Mastermind Retreat where I will be learning from the industry’s best as well as meeting other filmmakers from all over the world. Because of this, I will be out of the office from January 12th to January 20th.

Rest assured, I will be working on edits here and there during the holidays and up until my trip but for the first time in a while, I have been able to take time for myself and really focus on the direction I want to take my business in the future. Thank you all for supporting me over the past six years. I'm grateful for each and every one of you. I can't wait to see what 2024 will bring!

Hey everyone! Ashlee here! Just hopping on real quick to introduce myself to any of my new followers. This is me, my husband, Nick, and our son, Hudson.

Today marks 4 years married and a whole 17 years together!

Some things about us. We met a few weeks before our 17th birthdays when we were hired as cashiers at Walmart on the same day.

Our birthdays are exactly two weeks apart (I’m older 😜). Let me tell you the first two weeks after turning 21 was a blast because I had a designated driver. 😂

We didn’t attend the same high school, but we went to college together. And we are both in the fields we majored in.

My first car was his third. And if it wasn't already 15 years old when I got it I'd probably still have it. It was a light blue 1995 Buick Century. That thing was a tank and I genuinely loved it so much.

And a little about Hudson. He's almost two. 😭😭
His first word other than Mom and Dad was Vroom. Yes. Vroom. He runs around the house yelling “Vroom Vroom car” Other than our dogs, his favorite things are cars.

Hey everyone, Ashlee here! As I am in the thick of wedding season, I wanted to take a sec and share a little about me.

•Not to be snarky (😆), but yes, my last name is Vroom. Yes, it’s pretty cool. No, I don’t know where the name originated. I married into it. And yes, my husband is a mechanic. 😂

• Fun fact: since changing my last name in December 2019, I have had to spell my last name out for people more times than I ever needed to spell my maiden name in the previous 30 years of my life. 😅And people still think I am spelling broom. 🤦🏻‍♀️

• Why is that funny to me? Well, my maiden name was about five letters longer, and it was never pronounced correctly. Shulenburg. In case you are wondering, it's German, and its origins are from a country called Prussia, and it no longer exists.

• Last fact. I am not German. Like at all. My great-grandfather Laverne was born in New York in 1900 and was adopted by John and Josephine Shulenburg.

Why am I telling you all this? Well, for one, family history is fascinating to me. And it’s one of the reasons I find video important in so many ways, especially for weddings when you have the whole family together, and you can grab snippets of them that you can hold on to and pass down forever
And two? Today, I found my great-grandfather's last name before he was adopted. For a while now, I have known that I am English, Irish, Scottish, and there is a little bit of French from my mom’s side, but I have been looking FOR YEARS to find the last name of my great grandfather. I gasped when I saw it. I didn't believe it, but there it was. Armstrong. For years, I could trace my maternal side back to 1700 and my paternal grandmother’s further than that. But my parental grandfather’s side has been stuck since 1900. And I am so thrilled that I found it.

It’s always a welcomed surprise when fellow vendors send me some pics of myself working. This was taken on September 3rd while working for .and.co. Even though it’s been sweltering and humid (I’m positive that I was sweating already, and I just started and was inside under an AC vent 😅), I’ve really enjoyed this year. I’ve come a long way since January (down FORTY pounds!), but on incredibly humid days, I have a bit of trouble breathing. Needless to say, after this summer, I am ready for Fall!

Hey, Ashlee here! It's been a sec since I put my face on here, so I figured what day is better than today. Here is a pic of me and my favorite (well, one of my favorite 😜) person, my husband, Nick. Here are a few more of my favorite things:

•The color blue:
My hair is blue, my bedroom walls are blue, and three of the four cars I had were blue.

• Summer is my favorite season.
Why? Not because it's stupid hot l, but because it’s the best time to do my next favorite thing…

•Rolling down all my windows and blasting my favorite music.
Today was the first time in a while that I could do that. (I don’t care about my ears, but my son’s ears are a different story.) Some of my go-to's are Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Sum41, Silverstein, and My Chemical Romance. Yes, I am stuck in the early ’00s-’10s, but I don’t care.

• Favorite song as of late?
That’s a tough one. I have a few new bands that I listen to, so here are my top 5 🤷🏻‍♀️ in no particular order:
- Love From The Other Side- FOB
- Hollywood Baby by 100 Gecs
- Ultraviolet by Silverstein
- Call Me What You Like by Lovejoy
- We Didn’t Start The Fire by FOB
Yes, I know it’s a cover of Billy Joel, BUT the way FOB rewrote it with all the events we have lived through is much more relatable. Also, I am impressed that they rewrote it in a way that worked with the original song. How long must that have taken?

You guys should see my collection. It started in my bedroom and has slowly taken over my entire house 😅

Hoping everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day!

After completing three weddings back to back to back, I will take the next few days relaxing and spending time with family. I will return to the office on Tuesday! If you have something already scheduled with me, no worries! It will not affect that!
