The Z is closed Friday, July 4 in recognition of Independence Day. The box office will reopen on Wednesday, July 9 at 9AM. We're always open at zeiterion.org!

The Z’s signature mural was recently recreated on canvas, which was a common practice in historic theaters. It not only saved time, but this method also mitigates inevitable spider cracks, making it more durable than restoring or re-painting the plaster. The mural was created in the original color scheme of 1923 and installed with specialty glue that is likely to last another hundred years! New Bedford Festival Theatre is thrilled to announce our celebrity guest spellers for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! 🐝 Each performance features a special guest who will test their spelling skills (and composure) live on stage — and trust us, the results will definitely be worth the price of admission.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Armand Marchand, a beloved founder of New Bedford Festival Theatre and a visionary force in our community. Armand’s warmth, creativity, and generosity of spirit left an indelible mark on the Zeiterion and on the countless lives he touched through theater. Alongside his partner in life and theater, George Charbonneau, Armand created a space where local talent could shine and often soar to amazing heights. His legacy lives on in every curtain call and in the hearts of all who had the privilege to work with him.
