Busy florist and event design company in Craven County (New Bern) in need of team member to assist with daily floral deliveries, event rental equipment deliveries, event set ups and tear downs. Ideal applicant must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment, load and unload delivery vehicles, as well as customer vehicles. Applicant will need to learn about event rental equipment (tents, tables, chairs, linens, dance floors, etc) and the maintenance and upkeep of that equipment. In addition to heavy lifting, this position requires some ceiling decor work (fabric draping and lighting), so the ability to work on ladders or skyjacks is a must. Applicant must have a flexible work schedule with weekend availability. Reliable transportation is a must along with a clean driving record. Event days can run long, so applicant must have the stamina to work long hours. Experienced RETAIL floral designer skilled in all aspects of design, including but not limited to, traditional & contemporary design, sympathy work, and most importantly, wedding and event design. Must be able to work with both fresh and silk flowers. Applicant must be knowledgeable in floral processing and care as well as working with the floral wire services. Must be friendly and outgoing and able to work in a fast paced working environment while still achieving optimal customer service and high productivity. Applicant must have a flexible work schedule and reliable transportation. Weekend availability is an absolute must. Event work will sometimes require long hours, so physical stamina is required. At least two years as a retail florist is preferred. We are a total event management company including full service florist and event rental company specializing in event design and decor. Knowledge in these areas is also helpful. Creativity IS a must! Applicant must be dependable, trustworthy, and reliable with an excellent work ethic. Only serious career designers need to apply.

We are looking for someone creative as well as crafty, with some design experience preferred but not necessary. Position also includes event planning, as well as event set up and tear downs. Applicant will need to learn about event rentals (tents, tables, chairs, linens, etc), all aspects of decor to include flowers, balloons and balloon decor, fabric draping, lighting, theme decor, etc. Team member will also be required to learn tuxedos and tuxedo sizing and fittings, Invitation ordering, and wedding and event coordination. Position requires some heavy lifting and ceiling work, so being able to work on ladders or skyjacks is a must. Applicant must have a flexible work schedule and weekend availability is required. Reliable transportation a must. Applicant must have a willingness to learn and retain much information (sizes, counts, prices), be able to handle stress well and meet time deadlines, be somewhat computer savvy and able to take initiative and follow instructions. A winning personality is a plus! Organizational skills are appreciated.
