He’s definitely got a good point!

BUT - they really should last more than a few days. When flowers come in to me they come packed tightly in boxes. Depending on the variety, they are processed and conditioned differently but all stems receive a fresh cut with cleaned, sanitized clippers designed for cutting flowers and placed into water that contains nutrients designed for flowers (free to you 😉). In all seriousness- I pride myself on the comments I get about how long the flowers last, it makes taking the extra time and resources of changing out water, adding new flower food, re-clipping stems, worth it.

Now do I guarantee they’ll last x amount of time? No. Because like he said “they’re not meant to last.” But I will provide you with some tools to help their longevity- in the card envelope, I add an extra packet of flower food with basic instructions to keep them fed and happy as long as you’re willing to put in a tiny amount of effort ☺️

They are a consumable. You don’t have to spend an exorbitant amount of money of them (although I know the cost of other consumables that we splurge on so this should be no different 😆) Even a simple single stem flower will make someone just as happy as a mega arrangement. Tell us your budget! We will be honest about what we can use, but we will make it beautiful no matter what.

CORSAGE ORDER DEADLINE!

New Hampton’s annual Daddy Daughter dance is Saturday February 15th ❤️

I’ve never done an order cut-off/deadline date before - because I dislike having to tell people no. However- because it’s the day after the busiest day of the year (for a florist 😜) I will not be taking any corsage orders after Monday February 10th. The second reason for this is to ensure I’m able to get in more flowers in time if I need to.

If you don’t know what they’re wearing- we can do white flowers, with iridescent accents and it will look adorable with anything! So please, please, please call as early as you can to get corsages ordered for littles if you plan to get one 🥰

Lastly, we will be open that Saturday morning for corsage pick ups! As of now I’m planning 9-12

I know Christmas is over, but I have 2 massive poinsettias left that I want gone. They’re too beautiful to throw away. They are FREE if anyone feels inclined to stop and pick them up.

With the new changes in hours, we have been tossing around the idea of having a “self serve” option. For example- have you ever been to Country View? The store is entirely self serve, they have a cash box but also Venmo.

But want to hear from you! If we were to offer this, when would you utilize it? Weekends? Evenings? Early morning? Would you use it to only pick flowers out of the grab and go cooler our would you also be interested in plants? Decor and gifts?(while we still have decor and gifts) Would you pay with cash? Venmo?

Let’s hear it!

*edited to add- this wouldn’t take away from our other walk-in hours. This would be in addition for the hours we aren’t able to be there so that customers can still pick up orders, or purchase flowers 🥰

We are working on making sure all apps/google/maps/social media have our current hours and information - BUT it's not easy. Apple Maps currently shows 2 locations at the same address with one saying "Permanently Closed" - this is not true - obviously. Either way, Happy Full Moon Monday!

Most have already seen that I have accepted a role as Event Coordinator at the Cottage at Woodland Farms (the old winery in Fredericksburg). I am so excited about this opportunity as the couple that now own it are so dedicated to bringing the property up to its full potential and more.

I will not be closing the flower shop! I’m sure there will be many rumors- but just stay tuned to the business page here for any updates. I am always fully transparent ☺️ the hours WILL be changing. But that was a change that was going to happen -regardless of this new adventure.

When I downsized buildings the sole intention for that was to stop selling retail gift- it’s not something I’m passionate about- I’m passionate about flowers, plants, and events. So you will be seeing mega sales on ALL of my gift inventory! I want that space to showcase all of the rental items we have for events and to have more room to have floral and plant related classes 👏

This economy has changed so much since 2020 and for most small businesses that change has been extremely hard to adapt to. We’ve all had to find ways to cut expenses. Because of that I am alone most days - I am totally fine with that - but that also means I lock up to run deliveries - which I’m also fine with. But I know that it’s upsetting for people that make the trip to the shop to find the door locked. To help with this, I will be changing the hours fairly drastically but this will accommodate me having time to schedule all other things around “OPEN” hours so there will never be any confusion about it. Stay tuned for that post!

As always, we will be set up inside the school right outside of the auditorium for the dance recital this weekend! We DO have extra bouquets— however, the extras sell super fast and they are first come first serve. If you purchased online we have those quantities counted for and reserved and will not sell out before those are all picked up. Sorry I’ve been a little quiet over here! My daughter was down and out with pneumonia for what felt like FOREVER! Having a 4 year old trailing me around the flower shop for over a week didn’t leave me with much freedom or time for social media posts 😆

BUT don’t forget flowers for your Thanksgiving table set-up! They really do elevate the whole atmosphere and add such a cozy festive vibe. Not hosting?? Then take a small arrangement as thanks for your hosts, don’t show up empty handed ☮️❤️💐

(I included the “what you don’t see” pic to see how much better the flowers make the table look, even with 3 kids- clearly the baby agrees 😉 this table has been passed down to me from my great grandparents, I know it needs refinished, but again-3 kids- who has time for that?! It’s added character 💞)
