Do you have Elf on the Shelf? We do. We have two now. LIke all the working parents by the end of December I'm sick and tired of them and I want them to go back to the North Pole. Last year my older daughter fugured out that Elf is not real and she moved it around couple of times. This year I asked her to help me out the last couple of days leading up to Christmas since I will be busy at the Edible Arrangements shop. She wasn't impressed and told me not to take Christmas magic away from her :) And I actually like it. It seemed as such a commercialized idea but it is turning into a real tradition for our family. The topics and the scenery change as my kids grow older - (tonight both Elfs are taped to the wall with a posted note reading "the floor is lava!") . I feel like our family has finally formed its own solid traditions. There are things that we definitely can't do without now around the holidays. We have to have Elf, we have to decorate gingerbread houses, we have to go out in our pajamas on a Christmas morning to a local restaurant. Tell me about your favorite family tradition!

Make random moments special. I was just thinking about it the other day. How we put too much weight (emphasis) on certain occasions. Birthdays, weddings, bridal showers, vacations, anniversaries, holidays (including Valentine's Day :) ) But what do you really remember? What puts a smile on your face? The best moments for me are laughing away with my friends, cuddling with my babies, hugging my husband, walking at the beach or staring at the starry sky. Those things don't cost anything but make the best memories. Make the best of what you have.

And we are still going to be there at 243 State Street New London CT dipping strawberries. 860 437 3166. You know it's going to be crazy busy (we know it's going to be crazy busy). Don't wait till the last day when you can't get through the phone because a million other people are also fashionably late. Remember to check your order status online!

Did you get your shopping done? I haven't. Out of the all the Holiday things I did - I watched the Grinch with Jim Carrey yesterday and I can relate. I did get the gingerbread houses early this year (last year there was a shortage of those) and they are already made! Oh, and we did put the Christmas tree yesterday. Everything is a bit backwards this year but walking backwards teaches you balance :) The best part - my 10 year old have discovered that Elf on the Shelf is not real and all of a sudden magic has happened! I don't have to move the Elf - this is a game for her to entertain her little sister!

Since we own the shop, I can't get away with bringing an Edible Arrangements as a main gift (but you can, lol! ). At the same time, I will be frowned upon if I don't bring a box of chocolate covered strawberries and cheescakes on the side! Those are still my favorite.

To all my fellow moms out there: Happy Mother's Day! We are awesome!
Being a mom didn’t come to me naturally and I wasn’t in love with my first baby in my belly and I was ashamed to admit it out loud. When my friends came to the hospital to congratulate me and said “the baby was beautiful”, I had to take another look at them to make sure they weren’t crazy because to me that was an obvious lie. (Don’t worry, with the second one my maternal instincts were on point and the newly born furball was the most beautiful I’ve ever seen).
Moms, don’t be hard on yourself. We are all different. Let’s support each other and judge each other only quietly behind our backs 😊 (No eye rolling either!)
Don’t forget wine and chocolate covered strawberries to take before, during and after doing math homework with your kids. (We are on division right now). We don’t sell wine but we do sell chocolate covered strawberries.

Happy Easter from our family to yours! I love this holiday because it is a reset button for me (just like Christmas and Thanksgiving), time to take a deep breath and become a better person. Because I don't know about you, but in between - I am a fire breathing dragon. Time to think of what really matters and forget about the driving you crazy non important stuff. Time to enjoy your family, your friends, your pets, nature around. Namaste
PS: We are open tomorrow 9-2pm for pick ups and deliveries (cut off 1pm for last order). Fruit basket is the only meal I am cooking for Easter. (Hopefully my in-laws plan on cooking the dinner as usual 🙂 !)

Yesterday me and my husband celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We booked the venue at the last minute because there happened to be an opening. Wonder why there was an opening? When all our friends were at the bar and not at their tables – we realized that it was a Super Bowl Sunday! We get it - all you last minute people! Life gets in the way and you forget to do something important. Like order your Valentine’s Day gift. We are here for you! (And we appreciate all the non procrastinators who order in advance – you rock!).
Don’t call us on Valentine’s Day 860 437 3166 (call us before)– chance to get through our ringing off the hook lines are same as COVID pandemic being over in a week. Place your order online (remember we have limited collection, so don’t freak out if something isn’t available). Best way to check the status is to track your order online (or you are getting email updates once the status changes).
PS: My favorite picks – Can’t get enough of cheesecakes (Don’t eat too much of those, you can freeze them!) Flowers – they last a very long time! And classic – chocolate covered strawberries!
