Welcome Autumn
There will be a meeting of the powwow committee this Sunday afternoon at 4 pm. We will be enjoying the beautiful fall weather at the tables in front of the Wendy's in New Martinsville.
If anyone would like to join us for the meeting and see how you might help to keep the powwow going in the right direction, contact one of us or simply meet us there for the meeting.
Also, the Three Sisters Intertribal Powwow is coming up at the Atwood lake fall festival. Since we missed having our event this year, we want to make sure that everyone knows about this one coming up. It'll be October 5th and 6th, with a Glow Dance on Saturday. You can look them up on FB for more information.

Well we did the blanket drawing, and our little friend Rozzy drew out the ticket with the name Michael Edwards on it, so congratulations, you won the blanket, and we will get it to you as soon as possible. And thanks to everyone for buying tickets and supporting the Powwow.
Keep an eye out for more raffles as there is a new blanket already in the works.

We were told that this work would be taking place through November and that the crew would be taking up much of the space that we use for the powwow.
We are sorry that we had to cancel, we miss everyone so much, and we are hard at work on the plans and fund raisers for next year.

Please note that our raffle drawing has been extended by a week to allow everyone to purchase thier tickets.
The drawing will be on July 14th instead of the 7th. Please contact Jennifer Babb, Alan Babb or Tammy Waybright to get tickets.
It's a beautiful blanket, hand made and very warm.

Edit: Since the powwow has been cancelled for this year we are extending the raffle by 1 week to allow everyone time to get thier tickets purchased. The drawing will be on July 14th instead of the 7th.

It has come to our attention that a scammer is trying to collect vendor fees for an event that they claim to have planned. They are not part of our committee, they do not represent us on any way, and they do not have an event planned at the locks. If anyone gets a message or email claiming to be from us, it is a scam. All correspondence will come from one of the committee members that you all know. We don't have any online payment options and would never ask for that.
Do not trust any post, page or email if it is not from Jennifer and clearly identified as such. Feel free to message me if you have been contacted or have any questions in regards to this matter.
It's bad enough that we've had to cancel to Powwow, but we have to deal with these scammers too.

Even though the Powwow is cancelled, we will still be drawing for this blanket. If you're interested in buying tickets send us a message to either the Monroe Powwow or to Jennifer and we will be glad to help you out.

It is with broken hearts that we announce that we are having to cancel the 2024 Powwow. We heard from the Lock Master's office that there are some repairs and maintenance going on from June through November and the area that we use for the powwow won't be accessible. We are sad but hopeful that we will be able to make some spectacular plans for the 2025 Powwow.
Again, we are sorry, but this year we are going to have to cancel the Powwow, but keep a look out for our plans for 2025.

In about a month we will be gathering all of our friends and family and celebrating at the Hannibal locks. I hope everyone has made plans to join us for the weekend. It's going to be a great time to learn, pray, heal, live, love, laugh and share

We want to thank everyone who stopped by and supported the powwow this weekend. We made a little for the powwow.
It won't be long till we'll be setting up for the powwow and vendors and dancers will be rolling in. We can hardly wait to see all of our friends.
