🌷🌼Keep Calm and Flower On!🌹 Thibodeaux’s floral tip of the day! In the center of a Lilly there is a little pollen producing bulb called a stamen. If left inside the Lilly after it opens, the stamen will stain the petals orange... heck it will stain EVERYTHING orange including you! Happy May Day! 🌷🌸🌺 The earliest known May celebrations appeared with the Floralia, festival of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers. Since the 18th century, many Roman Catholics have observed May Day with various May devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary by crowning her with flowers. This was our little instal to celebrate May Day. We had a great time creating this “just because” piece to revel in the beauty of May. A special thank you goes out to Nigella SF for donating these flowers.
