Stumpy’s Hatchet House to Open in the Heart of the CBD!

New Orleans’ locals and visitors alike will soon be able to enjoy the thrill of hatchet throwing in a fun, casual, and safe atmosphere. Stumpy’s Hatchet House, the original and premier hatchet throwing venue in the U.S., is opening in 2020 in the heart of the CBD! Home of the “social throwdown,” Stumpy’s is known nationwide as the place where people can share the celebratory and addictive nature of hatchet throwing as a way to relax with friends, break the ice on a first date, or build camaraderie with their colleagues.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House is the original, setting the standard for throwing lounges. As other brands focus more on the competitive aspects of hatchet throwing in industrial warehouses, Stumpy’s remains true to its mission, giving visitors of all skill levels a safe, fun, and relaxing social experience. Stumpy’s hashtag is, after all, home of the #socialthrowdown!

No matter the location, every Stumpy’s Hatchet House is reminiscent of a pine-scented cabin, complete with branded candles, large leather sofas, giant wooden Jenga, large screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Stumpy’s is meant to be a comfortable place for friends to hang out, order in some food and enjoy some beers or other beverages, while having fun throwing hatchets together.

New Orleans’ locals Kevin and Helena Cunningham are partnering with their son Kevin Jr., and daughter Sydne, to open Stumpy’s NOLA in the heart of the CBD at 1200 Poydras St. The two-floor facility is within easy walking distance from the hotels, streetcar line, the French Quarter, Convention Center, Superdome, Harrah’s Casino, and Smoothie King Center. The location will feature 10 throwing pits, a private party room, and a bar serving beer, wine and simple cocktails. Guests are encouraged to order in food or allow Stumpy’s to take care of that for them.
