It's the first day of the 105th Annual Meeting of the American Meteorological Society. The AMS is a global community committed to advancing weather, water, and climate science and service. At one of today’s sessions, our Director of Sustainability, Linda Baynham, was invited to present how the Convention Center is working to combat climate change through our recycling program and LEED certification efforts.

New Year's Day Incident

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center mourns with our city and the families and individuals impacted by the tragic terrorist attack in our city early on New Year’s Day.

We are profoundly grateful to the New Orleans Police Department, along with regional, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, for their swift response and dedication.

New Orleans attracts millions of visitors and is home to hundreds of thousands of residents because of its vibrant, inclusive culture and the warm hospitality of its people.

New Orleans is “Built to Host” world-class events, we remain committed to continuing that tradition. Our resilience and community spirit will not be shaken by this senseless act.
Convention and meeting event security is our number one priority. We are currently discussing preparations for major events in the coming days alongside our partners in the hospitality and meetings community.

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center stands united with our city, state, and federal partners. We defer to the FBI, the lead investigative agency, for further updates on this ongoing investigation.

She shared exciting updates with local women tourism leaders on the transformative projects shaping the future of New Orleans, including our ongoing Capital Improvement Plan, the River District Development, and the future headquarters hotel. We are incredibly proud to have such a remarkable woman leading the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center!

This year's holiday training day at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center was one for the books! During this festive event, we learned fascinating history about our building and celebrated our CEO & President, Michael J. Sawaya, who surprised us by singing with the band, Dr. Brice “Doc” Miller and the New Orleans Music Company!

Each year, children attending NOLA ChristmasFest are invited to write messages to our local veterans, decorating them with bright colors and holiday cheer! 🎄🎅 Last week, our Convention Center elves had the privilege of delivering these heartfelt handwritten letters to the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home, spreading Christmas joy. It was a privilege to meet and play Bingo with these amazing senior citizens —including Mr. Jack, a 101-year-old World War II veteran. We’re so happy to continue this meaningful tradition!
