Originally built in 1906 (as The Shubert), the Civic has loomed large in the imagination of New Orleans for decades. Over its varied history, it has hosted vaudeville, burlesque, musicals, and disco. In 2011, after years of neglect, the Civic was transformed through an extensive and meticulous renovation effort. A comprehensive hands on training program designed to equip learners with the skills and industry knowledge needed to secure and maintain stage production gig work. Whether you’re looking to build a career in the industry or just dip your toes into some exciting part time work, this six week course covers entry level positions in everything from sound and lights to rigging and backline.
