Originally built in 1906 (as The Shubert), the Civic has loomed large in the imagination of New Orleans for decades. Over its varied history, it has hosted vaudeville, burlesque, musicals, and disco. In 2011, after years of neglect, the Civic was transformed through an extensive and meticulous renovation effort. The goal was to preserve the building’s architectural character while introducing stat

e-of-the-art AV technology and an innovative hydraulic flooring system that allows for multiple configurations. Today, the Civic is alive and kicking once again as one of the South’s premier venues. Enrollment is open now for Crew Call! A comprehensive hands on training program designed to equip learners with the skills and industry knowledge needed to secure and maintain stage production gig work. Whether you’re looking to build a career in the industry or just dip your toes into some exciting part time work, this six week course covers entry level positions in everything from sound and lights to rigging and backline. Classes are held once a week on Mondays. Each session runs four hours covering the following topics each week. Head to thecrewcall.com for more info 🎸
