Transformation Talks: Youth Giving Summit Ambassador Spotlight
This week on the #TransformationTalks series, we feature our Youth Giving Summit Ambassador, Abigail Osei, who shares her story about writing the transformative book, "Let’s Learn Twi". Abigail, a global philanthropic leader and author, is a Ghanaian living in New York City.
With over a decade of experience and expertise in private philanthropy and grants management, she is the Assistant Vice President of The Starr Foundation, providing operational leadership in grants management technology, reporting, and external communications. Abigail also holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Lehman College and a Bachelor’s degree in International Politics & Economics from Middlebury College.
Even when she leaves her busy day job, she continues to make an impact by supporting families in their journey of embracing their heritage— specifically their Ghanaian one. After unsuccessfully attempting to find Twi-speaking toddlers playmates for her two-year-old niece, she decided in 2021, to embark on a mission to bring Twi to children in the African diaspora. Abigail‘s love of Twi and Ghanaian culture were looking for an outlet, and Let’s Learn Twi was the perfect start.
Watch to learn more about how Abigail aims to equip families in persevering their heritage in this feature!

Youth Giving Summit Part 2 - Connection
Nelson Mandela once stated that “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” Today's youth are strongly committed to making a profound difference.
Two young people who have demonstrated such commitment are Khloe Thompson, Founder of GivingTuesday Spark / Khloe Kares and Benjamin Wong, Founder of Kid CEO Media. We are extremely honored to present them to you on Friday, August 19th – World Humanitarian Day – as the featured speakers for Part 2 (“Connection”) of our inaugural Youth Giving Summit. This conversation will be hosted by Arif Ekram, Manager of Global Partnerships at Candid / Youth Giving Program Lead, and moderated by Elizabeth (Liz) Ngonzi, CFRE, Youth Giving Summit Curator and Founder/CEO of The International Social Impact Institute®.
Our aim for the virtual YGS is to catalyze further efforts on the part of young people by inspiring, connecting, and activating them to create transformation in their respective communities and worldwide.
Our growing global audience includes young adults, teenagers and their parents, and people of all ages who are working on youth-oriented initiatives – all of whom will be energized by our speakers’ words and examples and will benefit from discovering a variety of platforms through which they can create their impact.
The Youth Giving Summit is organized by Candid and The International Social Impact Institute, in partnership with 3ZERO Club, CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation, GivingTuesday, Nelson Mandela University, Philanthropy Circuit, and YY Ventures.
