Founded by Jasmine Burems and King Aswad, Claudine Field Apothecary of Hudson Valley New York, is a matriarchal family farm, specializing in biodynamic flowers and medicinal herbs. Once New York State began to craft its comprehensive regulatory structure to oversee the licensure, cultivation, production, distribution, sale and taxation of medical, adult-use and cannabinoid h**p, the couple branched out to h**p through the industrial carbon sequestration and regenerative agriculture research program, making them eligible for the Seeding Opportunity Initiative.  

Claudine Field Apothecary is poised at the forefront of this burgeoning market.  “We're coming from a very grassroots, community centered, wellness focused perspective, and it's really starting from the ethos of our small family farm.” Jasmine Burems.

Claudine Field Apothecary believes that social justice and environmental justice go hand in hand toward a liberated future. As a feminist family, they create racial equity and an inclusive clean economy by making regenerative agriculture accessible to Black, Indigenous and QPOC communities in New York.

Along with her co-founders, Dr. Larry Bryant and her mother Dr. Octavia Wiseman, Hope is determined to help improve the lives of those suffering from debilitating illnesses.

Hope founded Mary and Main (formerly Compassionate Herbal Alternative) on the foundation of her vision to create opportunity for minorities who have been disproportionately affected by the war on drugs.

The Mary and Main mission is to provide safe and premium quality products with exemplary and compassionate service to all medical patients who are suffering from a number of chronic debilitating illnesses.

[They] also strive to be active agents within [their] community through social action, cannabis education, and philanthropy to further educate others on the benefits of this alternative medicinal approach to health.

Wanda L. James is the founder and CEO of Simply Pure Dispensary in Denver. Along with her husband Scott Durrah, they became the first African Americans, legally licensed in America, to own a dispensary, a cultivation facility and an edible company.

Wanda was the first in her family to earn a college degree. She earned her own stripes as a Naval Officer where she worked with the Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) to hunt down submarines. 

Wanda remains an advocate for vets and the use of cannabis for PTSD. 

Whether it’s speaking out on the lack of Black ownership in cannabis, over policing Black neighborhoods or the mass incarceration that still exists for people of color, Wanda is a fierce advocate for those without a voice.

She is also the founder and President of the Cannabis Global Initiative (CGI), a marketing and consulting firm that specializes in diversity development, regulatory framework and marketing.
