Extremely honored to have been officially made an artist-in-residence for NY. Once a month I’ll be performing my one man show in one of their many spaces throughout the city for club members (and a few invited guests!) So excited to have a new space in which to play and create and can’t wait to see where it leads.

Thank you for having me perform for such an amazing cause for and for showing me one of the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time: Harry Houdini’s personal membership petition. As a history nerd, old book nerd, and obviously magic nerd this pretty much made my week.

The first time I met Gilbert Gottfried I was 25 years old. I was terrified. I was doing close up magic before his stage set and he was the most famous person I’d ever worked with. We shared a dressing room and he was so unlike his character it was jarring. He was so quiet. I finally worked up the courage to talk to him. I told myself not to fan girl so instead I just turned and said the first true statement that came to my head: “ya know my girlfriend has a huge crush on you”

Gilbert turns his head towards me. Silently looks me up and down. And in that unmistakable voice I’d heard since I was a child, said: “well, I see she has a type”

To this day I’m not sure if it was a complement or a roast. But I’m sure as s**t glad for the memory. RIP

I still can’t full believe I can finally post about this but about 6 months ago … I did a thing. And now that thing is going to be Airing this Friday. Of all the things I’ve done I can safely say this was one of the most terrifying / challenging / surreal / rewarding things and while I will not be watching it as I’ll be quite busy stress eating gluten free Oreos under a comfort blanket, you definitely should (separate thank you post coming cus there are so many people who helped make this happen and I don’t want to leave out a single one)

It’s been 3 years since this photo was taken and I still get excited when I walk into and remember that I work there with my favorite performers in New York City. And that’s not an exaggeration. Every single performer you see is somehow the best magician you’ve ever seen. In fact, Come see for yourself! because we’ll now be there FOUR count em FOUR nights a week starting this December..

Made this sweet friend on my last day upstate at with the wonderful folks at . On my final day, I decided to do a solo hike and just as I was getting worried I had lost the trail (I am not what one would call outdoorsy) she started walking with me. She led me all the way to the base of the trail where the rest of her family were grazing. I figured they’d scatter but instead she came right up to me and just sort of … chilled. All In we spent about 20 minutes together. What a perfect end to a great trip.

What an absolute delight it was getting to host one of the greatest behavioral psychologists in the world, Daniel Kahneman, last night. His 2011 book “Thinking Fast and Slow” was one of the most impactful reading experiences I’ve had and influenced not only my own work but how I view the world on a daily basis. His latest book, “Noise”, which deals with how pesky flaws in human judgement lead to flawed systems and variable outcomes, is another can’t miss.

What an absolute delight getting to host one of the greatest behavioral psychologists in the world, Daniel Kahneman, last night. Daniel’s 2011 book “Thinking Fast And Slow” was one of the most impactful reading experiences I’ve ever had and influenced not just the way I approach my own work but how I approach the world on a daily basis. The thing I love so much about virtual entertainment is I can reach people from anywhere in the world. This week my grandfather turned 96 years old. While i usually perform from my home theatre , I made an exception and did a show from my hotel room In Chicago so that I could be there with him. The folks at were not only understanding but so engaged and excited to be there. People always ask me if reading minds is harder through a camera but sometimes it’s even easier. So grateful for this weird new medium and for the people making it possible.

Tonight’s the night! Last chance to see “RECONNECTED” before we close for the summer. Dm me if you’d like to attend!Way back in January, after the show first starting gaining attention, started working on a deck we could easily send out when folks had questions about the show. It’s the kind of thing I never would have bothered or thought to do but looking back at it, it’s incredible seeing everything we did in one place. There’s a lot of things I loved about doing virtual theatre (the novelty, the fact that anyone anywhere could attend) but far and away the best part of this show was getting to continue working with people I love during a really really s**tty year. That joy kept me sane and l think ultimately made it possible for us to give a bit of that joy to others. Im excited to get back to live but I’ll definitely miss the wild ride that was making this show.

I cannot believe that after 12 months, hundreds of shows and tens of thousands of audience members from around the world, “Reconnected” is finally closing its run. Friday at 8:30 eastern will be the last show (ticketed show that is, we’ll still be doing private performances) for at least a a few months while we all take some much needed time to recharge and recalibrate for whatever the hell comes next. I honestly fell in love with virtual entertainment and the capacity it has to reach wider audiences in such an intimate way so If you never got the chance to see the show and still would like to, the good news is we’ll be opening it up from our normal 30 screens and going out with a bang. Shoot me a DM for details!

Last night was our first night back in the club car of the Mcittrick Hotel and it was indescribable. Speakeasy Magick was the last show I performed in before NYC went into lockdown. In fact it was the last thing I did outside my home before the lockdown which came two days later and lasted well … longer than we thought. Last night we picked up where we left off to a completely sold out and fully vaccinated crowd and it was like waking up from a very bad dream into a very good one. Come find us there every Thursday and Friday and see what all the fuss is about.

is one of the best site specific theatre experiences I’ve seen. Though clearly conceived during the limitations of the pandemic, it easily holds up against any traditional theatre show. The scripts were tight, the actors superb, and the set designs (by David Rockwell) better than they have any right to be given they’re literally built into storefront windows. Even the ushers seemed to have a blast. Ive seen a lot of artistic attempts over the past year to “make the best of it” but this show was a great example of the kind of creativity that can thrive under constraint and maybe even outlive the circumstances that led to it. If you get a chance go see it!
