"And so 'Glass Pieces' shows us a line of dancers inching past the graph-paper backdrop like a roll of ticker tape, a human traffic jam that looks only too programmed, a grid of patterns ending finally in an onset of modular units of dancers dancing building-block choreography," wrote Anna Kisselgoff in a review for The New York Times following the world premiere of Jerome Robbins' Glass Pieces in May 1983.

Resident Choreographer Justin Peck's Belles-Lettres combines intricate costumes by Mary Katrantzou with César Franck's lyrical score, resulting in one of the dance-maker's most romantic works. Created for the 2014 Fall Fashion Gala, Belles-Lettres marks the first time Franck's music was included in the NYCB repertory.
