An Israeli artist Sally Bar writes in her statement: "The inspiration behind these works comes from the process of making them.
Painting in layers I use line, shape and color, with repetition of patterns and sequences. Working sometimes with eyes closed, guided by intuition, I paint and collage or I work with two hands simultaneously. As patterns on the canvas build up, the multilayered weave of shapes and lines create depth and space. I am fascinated by the inner workings of geological and biological systems. The mathematics of
nature creates patterns in a sequence, and spontaneous formation is woven into the fabric of life." On view thru October 28.
