USA Dance (formerly USABDA, the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association) is a non-profit organization established to further and promote the interests of ballroom dancers throughout the country, and the Greater New York Chapter fulfills that goal in the New York City metropolitan area, including Westchester and Long Island. The heart of Ballroom Dancing beats loud and strong in the Big

Apple, and we at the Greater New York Chapter of USA Dance aim to keep it that way, and help it grow ever stronger. We serve the five boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island), Westchester and Long Island. Whether you're new to ballroom dancing and DanceSport or have been dancing for years, you have come to the right place for dancing in and around the Big Apple. Our membership reflects the diversity of New York City, encompassing dancers of all ages, shapes, sizes, nationalities and backgrounds.

USA Dance National Elections will be held in November 2024. The Nominations & Elections Committee is currently collecting candidate submissions for those seeking office.

April 3 is the deadline for interested candidates to complete, sign, and submit an electronic copy of their National Candidate Confirmation Form (page 7) and Nomination By Petition Form (page 8). All forms are located in the USA Dance Policy Governing Nationals Elections -- https://ow.ly/8oIO50R5fpa. Once completed, send them to Mike Lynch, National Elections Director, [email protected].

May 1 is the deadline for interested candidates to submit an electronic copy of their resume, photo, and personal statement (no more than 500 words) describing their reasons for running for election, along with the Nomination By Petition Signature Forms (pages 9-12 as applicable) from USA Dance members who are in good standing, 18 years of age or older, and eligible to vote for the position. Attainment of a minimum number of signatures is required for all interested candidates, including incumbents.

• President - 100 signatures by any voting member
• Secretary - 100 by any voting member
• Vice President for Social Dance - 50 by voting Social Dance members
• Vice President for DanceSport Ballroom Division - 50 by voting Ballroom Division members
• DanceSport Ballroom Athlete Delegates - 25 by voting Professional and Amateur DanceSport Athlete Ballroom Division members
1 – Senior gender identify as male or non-binary
2 – Adult gender identify as female or non-binary
3 – Adult gender identify as male or non-binary

USADance National Ballroom Dance Week starts today! September 17-26, 2021 How are you celebrating it? The best part of it is that to celebrate it you do not have to be a USADance member. Share with us your stories, pictures, videos and more. We would love to hear from you!

Stealing the show, and giving the junior athletes a break from their Latin & Standard seminars at the 2021 Junior National Training Camp, was @BoxWon who introduced them to Breaking.

Past weekend USA Dance Education Committee ran another successful USA Dance Academy Junior National Training Camp in the Philadelphia area. Thank you to our amazing coaches Colin James, Katusha Wilder, Ronen Zinshtein and Boxwon for sharing their knowledge and wisdom with our future champions. Special thank to Nina Estrina (member of junior committee) who donated her studio space and volunteered her time to help make this camp a success.
