Beyond just being grateful to showcase what I love, it was amazing to be surrounded by so many talented creatives in the industry. Of course, it was also great to finally meet some of the guys in person and not just talking through DMs 😂👏.

Hi it’s, Jason 🖤

7 months ago my amazing girlfriend and I moved to north Jersey to continue our careers— hers in graphic design, mine (at the time) in behavioral health.

Though we had been planning on moving to the nyc area for quite some time, there’s only so much you can prepare for—especially when you were born and raised smack dab in the middle of the cornfields of Pennsylvania. 🌽

Needless to say, there was a bit of culture shock (even if I didn’t want to admit it). Thrown on top of that, I failed to land a ‘professional’ job, even after numerous interviews and what I thought at the time were impressive credentials and experience.

So here I was, sitting in the middle of one of the most heavily populated, competitive, and expensive places to live on earth—jobless, broke and honestly, depressed.

While I know how much we all love reading about the woes of others, I’ll make it simple and just say that I wasn’t exactly “living my best life” lol.

Struggles aside, I was able to figure things out bit by bit. As difficult as a challenge may have seemed in the moment, there was always a solution and a workaround to get to the next level.

Whether it was attempting to Door Dash in the middle of Jersey City (with a car: 0/10 do not recommend lol), making money from running ads (.bon 🐐 🧢), doing numerous types of freelance work, and of course DJing, I was always able to find a way to get by.

I’m beyond grateful to be at the point now where I’ve built up a full-time career working in the music industry. Though the journey is FAR from over, I’m blessed to have been able to create a lifestyle that empowers me to push past my limits and experience some of the most beautiful things that life has to offer.

For anyone that has ever supported me, please know that your actions, no matter how small, are immensely appreciated. You guys are the fuel that keeps me going and I wouldn’t be anywhere without you.
