The Good Coffeehouse Music Parlor was begun 40 years ago to bring traditional, roots, and world music to the local community. Back then, there weren't many places in New York City to hear this music, so the founders decided to start a venue where these acts could be showcased to the community. In 2012, plans were made by the Good Coffeehouse staff to bring the concert series to The Old Stone Hous
e. Now known as The Good Coffeehouse @ The Old Stone House, the Coffeehouse will present its first concert at its new location on March 3, 2013. Appearing will be the Whistling Wolves, a talented group of professional musicians who play blues, jazz, jug band, traditional and novelty tunes to discerning audiences citywide. We've moved locations, but ticket prices have been held in check. Most concerts range from $10-$15 for an early evening's worth of entertainment. In upcoming months, our audiences will be treated to the internationally known Stout (April 7), who perform American sea chanteys and songs of work and play with arresting harmonies. On May 5, Brooklyn's finest touring bluegrass ensemble, the Yankee Rebels, will perform, followed on June 2 by the internationally renowned guitarist Woody Mann. And don't forget to fill your Sunday afternoon with fine American music at The Good Coffeehouse @ The Old Stone House.
