Just thought I would post a few of these amazing sneak peeks from yesterday's senior session with

Honestly, this session was so cool and unique and fun, and we were able to create some beautiful art together. The experience was great for all involved, including me.

I love a good story, and this session came with just that! This is the campground where Liberty's grandpa was the part ranger for many years. Her mother worked at the camp when she was younger, and now, Liberty and he sister have both worked at the camp. Stories like this are amazingly special, and Liberty hit the nail on the head when she wanted to do her session here.

Perfection!! I'll definitely be sharing more!

Hey! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Hunter. I wanted to create this introduction post so all of the newcomers can learn a little bit about me. Plus, it's my birthday today, so I figured this would be the perfect time for it!

I want to start off by saying, I am thankful for another year. I'm not typically one to be weirded out by age, but it is kind of odd to say that I'm 28. I just want this new year to be used by God. That is literally my prayer. I want every new year of my life to be surrendered to what He has for it.

For the ones that don't know me, I am a Senior Portrait Photographer based on Arkansas. I absolutely love what I do. I have photographed many different things in my lifetime, but Senior Photos really have become my passion. I love being able to hang out with someone and provide them with an amazing experience and stunning photos. I love changing his or her mind about what a photo session can be. I love to push the limits and get creative in an adventurous way, which ultimately produces photos that reflect the senior's true personality.

(in short, stuffy and normal is not my thing)

Here are a few sneak peeks from Tila's senior session in the snow! I think this is my first official senior session in the snow. Snow is a little bit rare in Arkansas, and a good snow is almost impossible. However, this year, we were able to be in the line of a big southern snow storm. I jumped on the opportunity to do senior photos, and I'm so glad I did!

Bruno and I have been here, there, and everywhere during this snowy season. I really am like a kid in the snow, and I think that's how it should be. One of the reasons I love snow so much is because it forces the world to stop. It creates a mandatory break from life, and everyone is free to just enjoy those childlike moments that adults seem to forget about. I pray I never become that kind of adult. God encourages having faith and love and compassion and wonder and belief like a child. That goes much further than some are willing to admit. I believe we should live every day with the same passion as a child. It's hard some days because of obvious reasons, but to abandon your childlike spirit altogether is the definition of sadness. Enjoy every moment like a child. Don't ever fully grow up. We will forever be God's "children."

Winter senior session with the other day. We definitely captured the vibe. She asked me how I find places like this to shoot. Honestly, for this spot, my aunt and uncle live down this road.😂 Buuttt, there are two key elements to finding amazing spots to shoot.

1: Always be on the lookout for cool spots. Never stop looking for them. Be in the mindset to see photo session locations everywhere you go!

2: Don't look at something and think, that would never work. Just about ANY location can work. You just have to be willing to let your mind wander and then follow that!

Sophia's session is my first for 2025, and I'm ready for more!!

Throwback to when we could get in the water and take senior pictures with a waterfall. I want all of my senior sessions to have this level of adventure. Not this exact vibe, but a sense of adventure and special experience.

I want snow for Christmas! For those of you who don't know... Arkansas does not hold any "Winter Wonderland" status. Snow is a very short-lived thing here, and it almost NEVER snows on Christmas. We always get our wintery mix around February.

I really just want to see a white Christmas here. I know some people hate the snow. And to those people, I would say, stay inside.😂 I don't enjoy being cold, but there is just something about the snow that makes everything stand still. I get that people from snowy states probably don't marvel over it as much as I do, but it seriously has such a sense of peace and calm to it.

I really do enjoy it, and here's to hoping God makes it snow as my Christmas gift!🤞🏽🤞🏽

A lot of my photos are super moody with soft smiles or no smile at all. However, sometimes I will have a senior like Ryan, who is pretty much all smiles; big and beautiful! Those smiles are special.

It seems like people don't understand how special a smile is. Some of my seniors do not enjoy smiling, and that fits perfectly with my style. Buutt, I wish they understood how beautiful it is to just let out a huge, REAL smile. It's freeing. And, it's an amazing thing to add to a gallery.

Parents, friends, and other loved ones will cherish those big smiles. Those are the faces they love to see. Everyone likes to see a smile on someone else's face.

So, remember that for your photo session. No matter the style of the photographer, no matter your natural disposition, and no matter how insecure you are about your smile; just go ahead and let one out! It will be worth it! 😁😁

Looking through these sneak peeks from this little family session makes me happy. The photos turned out so good, even though Henry was not very happy to be there. Lol

We pointed at cows, watched Lyon King, pointed at cows, listened to Frozen, pointed at cows, tried to get Miss Rachel videos to load..... pointed at more cows. 😂 There was a lot of distracting going on, and in the end we were able to capture some absolutely beautiful candid photos.

I'm so glad Alexis found me. Winter is typically a slow time in the photography business, but I hope this shows what a winter session can look like! There is an entirely different vibe going on, and I'm here for it!

This is your reminder that your senior photos can be whatever you want them to be. Throw out the idea that you have to stand and smile at the camera in a generic location. Throw out the idea that there has to be a rigid schedule and x amount of shots in a certain way. Actually.... You can throw out all of the mediocre expectations that you have. We can create something amazing, something bigger than life, something better than what you had in mind, something that screams YOU!

Do you think Will would have had a fun senior session if we had taken them in some random field that had nothing to do with his life or his personality?? Let me answer that for you... Nope! He had an amazing experience because I was willing to drive to his family's farm, ride around in his truck, climb in and on farm equipment with him, use his rodeo props that he brought, and become his friend. All of those things created this senior experience that I hope he will never forget.

Yours can be that special too!

Shelby definitely had a unique location for her senior photos! Well, I'm sure it's not so unique for the people who live around this area, but it was unique for us! The Old Mill is North Little Rock is such a cool spot. The mill was built as a general replica of what old mills looked like in the 1800's, and this location was in the opening scenes of "Gone With The Wind." So, this is a pretty cool little spot, and it made for such a neat backdrop to Shelby's senior photos. Where is your dream photo location?

I've got some new things coming down the pipe that I will most likely put into place after the first of 2025. I am excited about where my business is headed. If you can't tell, I have been posting more and more seniors. Hint hint to what the future of HCH Photos is going to be. This is such a random post to mention this on, but I couldn't think of a caption. Lol If you actually read the caption to this post, then you are a real one. Just comment a 👍🏽 if you read it. I will definitely announce some things more officially in the future, but for now, this is for my followers who are invited enough to read this. Thanks for following what I do!

Jamestown Crag ( @jamestowncrag ) is my home hiking location, and it had been far too long since I had been out there. So, I grabbed my new little camera from @insta360 and headed out. This is a very quick tour of Jamestown Crag. This property has so much to offer such as camping, climbing, hiking, amazing views, waterfalls, and just plain outdoor fun. Save this idea for your next photoshoot! This photo just deserved this edit. I'm definitely a natural light photographer, and I don't typically deep dive into this kind of editing. However, this shot was just too perfect. This edit was accomplished completely in @lightroom and it's a beautiful addition to Jacob's senior gallery. Shooting in all kinds of lighting situations is something that I have unintentionally worked on sooo much over the years. I didn't purposely sit down to learn how to shoot in random lighting. It just came from legitimate experience. I am known for shooting whenever, however, wherever. So, with that comes the need to learn how to work with situations like this one. We were heading for such good sunset lighting, but we shot some beforehand while the sun was still pretty harsh and straight on Ayden's face. Also, there was the limitation of the actual lake itself. I couldn't get certain angles because I didn't feel like going for a swim. On top of all of that, I was not using a flash to counteract the highlights and shadows. It really does work! I saw another photographer post about this, and I had to try it out. This 9x12 painter's cloth from @walmart is the perfect blanket for a photo session. Guy seniors can be difficult. I'm sure a bunch of moms will say Amen to that. However, I have trained myself to make guys feel comfortable during the session and to even have fun while doing it. Here is an example of a guy who was not thrilled about being at the session, but he was doing it for mom. My family was sitting in church when we got the call that my grandpa's house was on fire. There was no time to save anything. He and I had just been there a couple of hours before that. I'm just thankful we were out of the house. I have never been through a fire before, but I can say that it truly resets life. There has been such peace, though. We know our hope is not in the stuff that was in that house. I'm thankful for my family and for God's protection today.

I really had in mind to play some funky audio and make fun of these pictures that I thought were sooo good back in the day. But then I thought about the fact that these WERE sooo good back in the day. They were so good to me. I loved creating these. These happened when my photography passion was fresh. They are literally some of the founding building blocks for my business and what it is today. So, yes, they may be funny and quirky in some aspects, but I feel like they have so much more value than to just reduce them down to "ugly" and "edited wrong" and "back when I thought I was good." Every single photo is a captured moment of my learning process in the photography industry.
