As a wedding videographer, I love golden hour ceremonies—but here’s the thing: they can either look like a dream or a dimly lit disaster. Here’s how to make sure your sunset “I dos” are cinematic perfection:

DO:
✔️ Time it wisely—Golden hour doesn’t last long! Your ceremony should end right as the sun kisses the horizon for that surreal glow.
✔️ Face the right way—You and your partner should be backlit by the sun, not squinting into it. Trust me, it makes all the difference.
✔️ Extend golden hour—String lights, candles, or soft uplighting keep the magic going after sunset.

DON’T:
❌ Start too late—If you say your vows in the dark, no camera can save you.
❌ Rely only on natural light—It fades fast. A few warm-toned lights will keep the ambiance and make sure you’re actually visible in your video.
❌ Rush through the moments—Pause, breathe, soak it in. The best films capture emotion, not just light.

As wedding photographers & videographers, we LOVE capturing first looks—it’s one of the most intimate and emotional moments of the day. To make it picture-perfect, here’s how to plan it right:

🌿 Choose a Beautiful, Secluded Location – Find a spot with lots of greenery and close to your venue to keep things stress-free. If your venue has a garden or scenic outdoor space, that’s an ideal backdrop!

👰‍♂️ Timing is Everything – The groom should arrive about 5 minutes before the bride to get into position. This ensures we capture all the emotions as they unfold naturally.

💖 Be Present in the Moment – Forget the cameras, forget the guests—this is your moment together. Take it all in, laugh, cry, hug, and just be in the moment while we capture the magic.

A well-planned first look makes for breathtaking photos and videos that you’ll cherish forever!

After covering lots of Indian weddings, we have one great tip to start the day smoothly. On a wedding day, we always recommend doing photos of videos of the groom first. The reason is the getting ready shots are much more straightforward and there’s very few things that cause grooms to run late. Try to find a nice window, turn off the lights and create a nice moody atmosphere.
