In honor of Juneteenth Round Hill Music celebrated the tremendous impact of whose spoken word performances inspired generations of rappers, poets, and singers. Considered by many to be the progenitor of rap, Heron was most famous for his spoken word poem “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,” a blistering commentary about war, racism, commercialism, and the media. Gil’s legacy lives on forever, and we are humbled to be the custodians to some of the most socially and culturally significant music of all time.
