Today is Giving Tuesday and we ask that you consider contributing to Young Dancers in Repertory as we continue to provide professional dance training and to foster growth and communication through our creative, educational dance and arts programming, performances and after school programming for children & youth along with our programming for seniors. It is our belief that every individual has the capacity for artistic expression and is entitled to a high level of training and artistic experience.

I just came back from Donating Blood at a local blood drive by the NY Blood Center. As we approach the holidays and winter months, this is something everyone of age and physically able should consider doing for themselves and their loved ones. What a simple way to give back to our community & to help our neighbors. It is so simple. You never know when you or some important in your life might need lifesaving blood. Do your part.

Earlier this October YDR’s Ensemble performed at several Brooklyn venues which included a Multicultural Festival in Bensonhurst, and two Senior Centers in Sunset park. Dances included an Italian Tarantella, a Chinese Ribbon Dance and a modern dance work titled “A Little Off-Center, by George”.

The Young Dancers in Repertory Ensemble just completed two performances at local Senior Centers with another performance at an International festival event tomorrow. Community performances such as these have been an important part of YDR's community engagement since the company began in 1985.

I hope you were able to stop by to view some of the multicultural program yesterday at the Sunset Park BID 5th Avenue Festival. During the 12:30pm to 2:30 time audiences were able to view professional dancers performing dances from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine & Mexico, along with our Young Dancers in Repertory Ensemble with dance from China, Italy and a tribute of popular songs American Artist George Gershwin. Next Regina Opera Company joined our program. From 4:00 until 6:00 we presented professional performers with dances from Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Brazil & Latvia. Truly an international program, which included opportunities for audience participation. Our multicultural dance workshops will begin again this October. Come join us.
