As a parent, I'm trying to do my best. But it's still not enough. I'm lacking in energy and focus... as we all are. Children need a lot of attention/energetic presence -- which is why it's so important to share caregiving responsibilities with trusted friends, family and caregivers. Yes, it is going to be expensive whether you choose to stay home or hire help... But the investment will pay off. This is why Sky Village tries to focus on small groups for our PSA, after school and summer camps. (I also hire more adults than what's generally required by the state so children can get the attention that they genuinely need.❤️❤️)

Seriously. We only get one opportunity to do it right. After reading Myth of Normal I just can't say it loud enough... IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BECOME A GREAT PARENT. And how do we do that? Take a look in the mirror before pointing a finger at your kid. The health and wellness of our children begins with us. Also... take note of the people caring for your children. What is their frequency? Your children are little sponges... so regardless of what childcare you choose - make sure you choose your humans wisely. I do!! ❤️❤️❤️

I recently connected with Mr. Hammurabi Bey and children's book author Mr. Ron Seaborn on the topic of SUGAR. Specifically ginger ale... as hand sanitizer. Before you start thinking, "girl, you've gone off to the deep end", listen to this golden nugget of wisdom that Mr. Bey shared with me.

Your gut, being our second brain sends messages to our mind. If the gut is not healthy, our first brain, the mind can't make good decisions. Our gut, is the source of our intuition. The information in this book is GOLD. The values expressed within are consistent with the values we share at Sky Village! One of the biggest takeaways is how important eye our contact is when talking to a child. Children also need lots of hugs!! This is the primary reason we choose Jiu-Jitsu as a cornerstone of our program.
