2019, the year before the pandemic, we were in the height of producing our largest, most creative installation work. Sarah loved Fallingwater and wanted something “different” for their wedding day. We were never given an inspiration photo, design board or Pinterest page to follow. We were inspired by man made mini falls on their property and came up with the idea to run the water overhead in the ceiling of the clear span tent. The white gypsophilia served as the falling water. With the help of wood lattices, we inverted and secured plants which were soaked in burlap, replicating the plant moments alongside the water. The delicate ceramic globes acted as water bubbles and were illuminated by LED lights when the sun set. The installation nearly stretched the entire length of the 70ft tent.
Post pandemic, people focused more on the intimacy and richness of gathering around a table again and there seemed to be a scale back in installation work.
2025 is shaping up to be different! What some of you may not know about me is that I was a producer for 11 years before getting into floristry. That skill set really helps with our larger installation work. I absolutely love creative concepting, planning and executing bigger work. Stay tuned as we start flexing our installation muscles again next week for S + A 💪🏼
