Clemson and his wife Jennifer have been struggling on the streets for a year now, and recently lost many of their belongings when the city cleared out the spot they were staying.

Losing their sock security cards hasn’t helped. (They’re currently working on getting replacements.)

Today we were able to bring them a sturdy suitcase-like backpack, food, a sleeping bag, solar phone charger and clothes to replace what they lost.

Working now to help them figure out their next move.

Today we met Marcus. When you’re living on the streets like he is, phone is everything. It’s your lifeline to the world; the way you stay connected to services, news, and for many individuals experiencing homelessness, it’s a way to counter the loneliness.

But finding ways to charge your phone, especially in the post COVID world, can be challenging.

Being able to offer clients a solar phone charger/power bank, is golden. It can be a life-saver literally.

Women’s Reproductive Clinic, in New Mexico, is poised to be among the last remaining abortion providers in the Southwest. Last year, it averaged 154 abortion patients a month. This spring, thanks to Texas’s new restrictions, the number is almost 300. The 73-year-old who owns the clinic—a gynecologist who has been performing abortions for nearly five decades—has considered retiring, he said, but doesn’t want to make the existing shortage of abortion providers even more acute.
