Classes continue this week, with Fundamentals of Style! This morning, the class is creating Dutch still-life inspired arrangements in primary colors, open, airy designs and contrasted backgrounds.

There is definitely a lot to learn, but I look forward to experimenting with putting flowers in this beauty and learning more about working with clay!!

Yesterday's class with was such a gift. Inspired by book, Jamie and I spent the day with students, exploring what inspires French florals and how lovely these elements are to photograph! Sharing and learning alongside our students was wonderful!

Enjoying the last flush of this season’s flowers with an arrangement made for in a new class offering, Celebrating Spring Flowers! What varieties do you see? Some are bulbs or corms, but others are transitional, heartier blooms taking us from cool weather into warmer.

The Baroque period was a time of returning to nature, gilded with a touch of gold to accentuate the beauty in nature’s simplicity.

It was so fun and rewarding to spend two days teaching Modern Dutch Masters with for ! The class was offered both for the intensive students in the Bronx and for non-certificate students in midtown. Both locations had some great spots for photos, as you can see by this one!

The city put these all over Queens to help with runoff. My basement has been less flooded with all the recent rain, so they seem to be working!
