A full house. A powerful film. A story that stayed with us.

The Sands College of Performing Arts, in partnership with Gersh, hosted an unforgettable Industry Insights event featuring Sing Sing—a film inspired by the real Rehabilitation Through the Arts program.

Clarence Maclin, whose story helped shape the film, spoke in conversation with Gersh’s Jayson Council about storytelling, redemption, and the power of lived experience.

📸 Check out highlights from the event and relive this powerful night with us.

A century of kicks. Decades of excellence.

Lauren Gaul—Chair of Commercial Dance and Musical Theater at Sands College of Performing Arts—is featured in an Associated Press story marking the 100th anniversary of the Radio City Rockettes.

A former Rockette herself, Lauren brings world-class expertise to our students. “There is something about the Rockettes being the main event that is sentimental, riveting, and iconic,” she shared.

That legacy lives on through our alumni. This year, 19 Rockettes and 15 ensemble members performing at Radio City were trained right here at Pace—our highest number ever.

From their start as the Missouri Rockets in 1925 to becoming a holiday tradition, the Rockettes represent the pinnacle of precision dance.

We’re honored to celebrate this milestone—and proud to help shape its future.

A high-kicking staple of the New York City holiday season is marking a century of wowing crowds: the iconic Radio City Rockettes are turning 100.

Matt Stern, head of our BA Stage Management program, is featured in a newly published book, "The Art of Collaboration: Director and Stage Manager as Co-creators and Colleagues."

In the chapter titled 'It's Not My Fault', Matt reflects on the intense pressure stage managers face—balancing perfectionism, logistics, and leadership under the spotlight of ongoing urgency.

"It's hard for us to make ourselves vulnerable in that way because all of those external pressures, the urgency, the financial pressures, the perfectionism pressures. There's a lot of stuff going on that you don't want to mess up."

He shares stories as well as insights into what makes the director—stage manager relationship thrive.

It’s a must-read for anyone interested in the art of live performance—and a great reminder of the industry-level training happening right here at Pace. 🎭
