It’s no secret that our rights, our lives, and our safety have felt threatened before, and the thought of going through that again is difficult to face.

But here’s what I believe: even in the face of uncertainty, we are never alone. We’re part of a resilient, beautiful community that’s always been here for each other—and that’s something no one can ever take away.

Last week in Maine I visited a shop selling the work of regional artisans. The owner noticed how I was paying attention, and asked if I was a craftsperson myself. I replied, “In a way, yes! I craft environments and experiences – I’m a wedding planner!”

Designing the space and tables, or as the kids say “the vibes” is such a gratifying experience. It’s thrilling to see it all come to life. Design services are included in my full service package, available as add-ons for partial planning and wedding management packages, and as their own stand alone service.

What makes a good wedding toast? 🥂

For me, there are three key elements that really help knock it out of the park:

1️⃣ Humor through storytelling. Make us laugh! Laughter unites a crowd through that shared experience.
2️⃣ Make it heartfelt. Tug at our heartstrings. Make us go awwww. Or dab a tear of joy from our eyes.
3️⃣ Brevity. You can make a great speech in 2-3 minutes. I promise! Folks think their speech’s are short, but then once they’re up there they go on and on. 300-500 words should do it.

✨And bonus point: please oh please don’t start it with “for those of you who don’t know me…” Instead introduce us to you through telling us a story of how you met the couple. So much more interesting! ✨

When you work with me, you have the opportunity to use to craft a meaningful ceremony script, write your vows, and help your toasters write the perfect toast! Provenance will also “read” your vows, speeches, etc for length and tone which is SUCH a gift. This app has been a game changer for my clients who use it, bringing a lot of peace of mind that everything will work together. AND my timeline stays happy. Just another bonus to working with Monus! 😉
