This is going to be another banger as we've got our residents DJ Cosi and Marc Smooth rocking with the Birthday Girl DJ Kharisma. We're also calling on our amazing Guest DJ Getlive! Wow, this dude kills the dance floor every time with his skills on the turntables and music knowledge, Getlive will take you on a serious musical journey and your feet will hurt by the end of the night. More of our DJ Friends and Family will be rocking as well....

The Freedom Party is New York City's legendary Throwback Dance Party, established in 2003. Resident DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth play all your favorite tunes from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s. NYC Dope! Present's The Freedom Party; New York City's legendary Throwback Dance Party, established in 2003. Resident DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth are back at the helm where they rightfully belong! We've waited a LOOOONG time for this date and we're super excited to finally bring it to you. For this special night, we called in the BIG GUNS for this HUGE Celebration!!!

We've got one of our favorite Brothers; DJ Excel on the decks. Excel, Philly native, member of the Skratch Makaniks is an incredible DJ with music selections and technical skills to rock a party. Can't wait to hear what he has in store! We also have our Brother Starting from Scratch from Canada! Scratch is Comedian Russell Peter's tour DJ, Creator of "Get On Up" one of Canada's best 90s Hip Hop/R&B parties and Producer. He always brings the HEAT to the dance floor and we're looking forward to his set! We got our Sister DJ Kharisma rocking with us as well. 94.7FM The Block's on-air DJ, Save the Vibe Party creator and Super Dope DJ who always brings energy and finesse to the decks. And finally, another Amazing Guest DJ Getlive! Major Victory for Our Freedom Party! NYC DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth Win Landmark Trademark Decision

NEW YORK, NY -- In a significant victory for artistic freedom and intellectual property rights, a federal court has ruled in favor of New York City DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth in their long-standing trademark battle. The decision protects the duo's right to use their well-established music collective, "The Freedom Party," against attempts to claim ownership of the brand & trademark. DJs Cosi and Marc Smooth released the below statement announcing their win:

"The NYC club music scene has been a wellspring of innovation and cultural influence for decades, yet Black & Brown creators have often been undervalued and exploited. Countless instances of appropriation have gone unchecked, diluting our artistry's power and legacy.

"Today, we are thrilled to announce that we've won our landmark "Freedom Party" federal trademarking case, canceling our former partner's previous registration. With this landmark decision, we now have full rights and shared ownership to use the Freedom Party trademark again and hopefully reconnect with our beloved Freedom Party family we've missed for the past seven years.

"The decision, delivered by an administrative judge in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) – Trademark Trial and Appeals Board, marks a pivotal moment for intellectual property rights and against cultural appropriation in the music community. This decision flips the script and is a resounding win for artists and music collectives everywhere, establishing a crucial precedent for protecting our creative ownership.

"The dispute was centered on Herbert Holler's claim to sole usage and ownership of our Collective's trademark and brand for his financial gain. However, through meticulous legal proceedings, we were able to underscore the significance of safeguarding artists' creative integrity and ownership in an industry often plagued by systemic challenges. We demonstrated unwavering resolve in protecting our intellectual property rights against appropriation and misuse. By recognizing our ownership of the Freedom Party's trademark rights, the US Patent & Trademark Office has sent a clear message: Black & Brown artistry and creativity deserve respect and legal protection.

"However, this victory doesn't just belong to us. It belongs to all of our Freedom Party family – to those believing that they've been attending the original Freedom Party over the years, to those who were aware of the issue and chose to do the right thing and not support the parties Herbert Holler was conducting.
