Today, I stumbled upon this photo of my mother on her wedding day, with my grandmother helping her get ready. It brought back memories of a time when they were both here, and it's bittersweet to look at this picture now that they are both gone. Losing my mom during the pandemic was especially hard, and Mother’s Day reminds me of how important it is to cherish the journey.

As a wedding planner, I am often lucky enough to witness mothers and daughters sharing meaningful moments, and it’s such a privilege to share that joy. But as much as I love my job, being a mom is the best job in the world. My mom was the wind beneath my wings, and I strive to be the same for Molly, whom I refer to as my little bird.

So here's to all the moms out there, past and present. May we always remember the love and support they gave us, and cherish the moments, big and small, that we have together.

We planned Wendy & Steve's wedding in only 3 months! We loved their ceremony at the iconic Palace Hotel, the rolling clouds projected on the dome of NYPL's Astor Hall, and of course, the cool nods to the couple’s love of literature, like the vintage es**rt card bookplates, table numbers made from books and classic quotes on menus covers.

From the tree of life to the tree of knowledge, trees are celebrated across nearly every religion. But have you ever heard of Tu B’Shevat? A centuries-old tradition of planting a tree on this Jewish Holiday dates back to ancient times, when families would plant a cedar tree as part of the birth celebration for daughters and a cypress tree for sons. The branches of these trees were later harvested and used to create a chuppah – the canopy that serves as a symbol of marriage and new beginnings.

Planting trees is one small way that we can make an impact on our environment and give a gift to future generations. There’s always a reason to celebrate, and planting a tree is a meaningful way to mark the occasion. Please consider planting a tree this and every year. Trees are the answer.

Although I wasn't born in the year of the rabbit (I'm a goat!),
the White Rabbit has been my spirit animal since I was a child. In fact, my first pets were rabbits, and in the not too distant past, we (nearly) accidentally populated the entire South Shore of Long Island with white rabbits. But that’s a story for another time. To mark the Chinese New Year, please enjoy a few photos from one of my favorite artists, who perfectly captures their quirky personalities in his childlike bunny portraiture.
