Torrone We’ve been selling it for decades and we will be selling it again at the 96th annual Feast of San Gennaro 9/15-9/25 so it doesn’t hurt to know the history:
In the province of Cremona, every year in late November, the Festa del Torrone celebrates this sweet Christmas tradition from the city. The original torrone, or Italian nougat, is made with egg whites, honey, sugar and almonds, although modern variations include a range of different nuts, dried fruit and chocolate-coated confections, all found in the charming century-old confectionery and pastry shops in the old town.
According to the local legend, the torrone was created in 1441 for the celebrations of the wedding between Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti, the duke and duchess of Milan. It is said to have been modelled after the shape of the city’s famous Romanesque-Gothic bell tower, the Torrazzo, from which it was also to get its name. The romantic story is relived every year during the week-long festivities, where the city rewinds to the famous year to recreate the historic marriage.

When I was a kid, he was probably one of my most favorite people in the world. Most of my fondest memories that I have were with him.- From the time he used to take me to the toy store, and watch me when I was a kid, to the time when I was about 12 and begged my mother to let me work in the feast with him and so forth.
I’ll never forget that horrible feeling I had 2 years ago today and it will probably live inside me forever 💔
Continue to Rest In Peace uncle Vinny, we all love and miss you very much 🙏
