This new construction condo in the lower east side presents another version of BO’s work that is less seen recently.

Unlike historic homes, where existing characteristics guide the design, this project required creating a unique character from scratch. In this case, the clients became the primary source of inspiration, with the couple’s vision of a “modern tree house” guiding the design to blend warmth and personality with the stark austerity of the new construction. Inspired by the notion of a tree house - typically nestled in serene, wooded environments, the goal was to bring that same feeling of refuge and shelter into a bustling urban setting. Natural materials played a crucial role in achieving this. Central to the design is a comprehensive and intuitive millwork program, custom-designed to enhance both storage and aesthetics, addressing the apartment’s unique challenge: not a single wall is perfectly straight. One of the most rewarding aspects of the project was navigating the apartment’s angular layout to integrate millwork that both softened the space and introduced a calm sense. Each custom piece was designed to enhance the apartment’s unique shape, subtly guiding the eye and creating a soothing backdrop.

Last week, we welcomed friends and family to Clinton Hill to celebrate a new era of BO at our newly minted headquarters.

So incredibly honored and humbled to be named one of AD’s New American Voices 2024. It’s symbolic in many ways, particularly as a first generation American.

America is my chosen home, for the possibilities and choices I get to make and the stories I write for myself on this land. It’s been a place where I find myself to be most free as a creative and an individual; where we’re promised to be who we are unapologetically and share space with others of their unique experiences and makeup. And that feeling is exactly what I’ve always wanted to bring to those we design for.

It’s never about curating a visually perfect space after all. What drives me will forever be the privilege to tell these human stories, my own included, through the lens of design and find the commonality of real emotions in different homes that binds us all as people.

So excited to share my Showroom on !

Mixing different eras, styles and even price points is a signature touch of Bespoke Only. The guiding principle behind the mix is really about staying true unapologetically to what makes your heart sing. Don’t think too hard or ever feel restricted by any decor “rules”. It should feel freeing and fun to collect over time based on what you like but not any trends.

The same applied to how I curated my showroom. Here you’d find many of our go-to staple pieces - things we’ve found to be extra versatile in various settings and also some really fun ones - there’s an amazing vintage collection from that I’m obsessed with. Kinda like a good wardrobe, you gotta have both.

Unveiling BO HQ with - it’s truly a pleasure sharing where we work and live with the one and only Introspective. BO was born at this very house many moons ago. We graduated from my dining table, to the attic startup era and finally, arrived at our own adult space this summer. It’s probably one of my most personal projects to date - every design decision felt brainless bc I only have been dreaming about them since forever ago. Our team has really grown through the years and I can’t be prouder to share this little corner of peace we carved out for ourselves in this big, loud and bustling world with my nearest and closest.

As spring’s finally upon us, we can’t think of a better timing to share our favorite roof deck in the city with you. Inspired by the history and vibrancy of the locale, this composed and collected Chelsea pre-war penthouse emulated the eclectic and artsy roots of the neighborhood. As a whole, this home is a well considered answer to the lifestyle of the owners: it’s a decidedly city-dwelling perspective, mixing in modern convenience and classic detailing fit to last for decades to come.

We’re in the process of creating a new home for BO HQ - the construction is well underway. I’m particularly feeling elated about it - really proud of the growth our team has built and also just so excited about the next chapter we will write together. We will have our adult space and bid the garage (attic in this case) startup era farewell at last.

9 years ago, when I first walked through the front door of this house, I dreamt that one day I will fill it with a team that I am proud to work alongside. And I’ve never wanted anything more. Looks like spring 2024 is when that dream comes to life.

This kitchen is a combination of two separate ones belonging to the respective homes, with their own layout, style, levels of flooring, ceiling height and many immovable structural elements in the building. During the merger of the apartments, we recreated a generally sized kitchen with two “wings”, each providing distinct functions and utilities, cladded in floor to ceiling subway tiles, a classic design predated from the gilded age and connected by a charming beverage station in the center adorned by a woodland themed toile wallpaper from British designer, Sian Zeng.

You can see from the before and after floorplans how the layout was reimagined with some necessary shifting of placement to create an intuitive flow with sensible circulation. Instead of a typical modern open floorplan, we liked how the multi-zones here accommodating various actives taking place in a kitchen at the same time.

The concept of physical/mental separation and unity in a daily setting is something we constantly come back to when designing homes for people - the needs of their personal space, support for one another and the boundary in-between.

Carrying the multi-zone concept throughout the home, we approached this expansive, Hudson facing living space with a light handed touch creating separate zones of lounging. The focus was the unparalleled river view and the enjoying of it in different settings.

Lovely to see our project on . Inside an iconic beaux arts building built in 1908 in the Upper West Side, we worked with on a full gut renovation to merge two adjacent apartments, occupying the entirety of the south wing of the floor. The focus was to create a vocabulary that communicates through different eras.

This Tenafly home features a series of hues that “almost feel tactile - they give out a sense of encouragement for indolence”. Here we drew inspiration from a collection of vintage watercolor paintings that the family own - a romantic, evocative impression of light was prominent in these drawings and we loved to bring that in for this young family in their new home, on .
