The New York Songwriters Circle

The New York Songwriters Circle has been discovering distinguished musical talent since 1991. Direct Open to the public.

The Circle takes place on the first Monday of every month at The Bitter End. Writers come from all over the world to submit their songs for this unique showcase. We provide a sound man, videography, photography and promotion. Audiences learn about how a song is created from conception to established hit.

✨ The OG Family! ✨ For 30+ years The New York Songwriters Circle has been bringing the best new talent - and on Monday, we celebrated some of the original artists and songwriters who were there at the start! ✨

Sometimes there are angels in the room. The artists and audience become one. ✨This was one of those nights. 🔥 So much love and joy listening to Tina Shafer, Chris Barron, Julie Gold, Rob Mathes, Tanya Leah, Peter Zizzo, Kevin Bents, Nick Deutsch, and Jenny Bruce sharing songs and stories of life, live, loss, and dreams! ✨ 🎶 Mysic. Sweet music! 🔥 🎶

Throw in a few Grammys and Emmys for good measure, and a whole lot of love…✨🎶❤️

Thank you to The Bitter End for always supporting live music and new talent. ✨

First of all , I wanted to thank every person who showed up last night for 34 years of my running The New York Songwriters Circle. It was so moving to see faces I have not seen in many years both on and off stage and to put the cherry on top, Neil Rosen (PBS Talking Pictures and NY1 critic) did a piece on the CIRCLE..that ran on PBS it's short and powerful. Thank you Neil Rosen always for your support over the years.

DId we tell you that the legendary ROB MATHES is performing at our 34th year anniversary Sept 30th Monday at the New York Songwriters Circle 7:30pm?? Rob has produced STING , Lady Gaga, so many Grammy winning artists, I can not list them all here. We go back 30 years when we were all just starting out as little unknowns in the music world. The Music busines has changed drastically but one thing that has not changed is the love for great live music with songs in their original form.

Directed by multi-platinum songwriter and performer/vocal coach Tina Shafer, the Circle is an in the round series held once a month on Mondays at The historical Bitter End club in NYC West Village.
