A reinvented Brooklyn cultural space hosts free progressive monthly screenigs

As we all know, intimate community spaces are disappearing at an alarming rate. Musician/activist David Ambrosio has created the Brooklyn-based RENEWAL film series to bring greater awareness to pressing social-justice, environmental, and economic issues at the newly transformed Soapbox event space, operated by artist James Greenfield.

Given dire headlines, their combined efforts hope to spark dialogue that reimagines a more livable world for those who want to move beyond the status quo. Grassroots organizing in the best sense could be one saving strategy in this period. The series runs the first Wednesday of each month and all events are free.

The first event showcases three films in April focusing on climate change.
