Irish Rep invites NOT BECKETT to our Mainstage next month! This two-day only series of staged readings by female-identifying and non-binary playwrights of Irish descent across the globe features the INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE of five short plays, each loosely inspired by a seed from Beckett’s work. These playwrights challenge what we know of classic Irish theatre with their cutting-edge reimaginations.

"Yes, the newspapers were right: snow was general all over Ireland. It was falling on every part of the dark central plain, on the treeless hills, falling softly upon the Bog of Allen and, farther westward, softly falling into the dark mutinous Shannon waves."

As we bid farewell to THE DEAD, 1904, snow falls softly across Ireland—just as it did 121 years ago in James Joyce's timeless story. Thanks to our phenomenal cast, crew, and creatives who brought this tale's warmth, melancholy, and beauty to life. Special thanks to our Producers, Great Performances, The American Irish Historical Society, and all the snowmakers who made this season unforgettable. Happy trails until we meet again.
