PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
We are excited to share one of our latest unique and beautiful projects in Bryant Park. We utilized a very large elegant gold frame in a planter box and adorned fall harvest flowers. Our client wanted to decorate their lobby with something festive and interactive for their tenants to celebrate China’s National Day Holiday and Golden Week, China's National Day Holiday – 国庆节. Guoqingjie – otherwise known simply as 'October Holiday,' is an annual weeklong public holiday. It is one of two semi-annual 'Golden Weeks' – 黄金周, Huangjinzhou – a name given to seven-day national holidays in China
The holiday commemorates the day that Communist Party Chairman, Mao Zedong, famously first raised the Chinese National Flag in Tiananmen Square and proclaimed the birth of a new nation, the People’s Republic of China (PRC), in 1949.

GROUP MEETINGS IN OUR CLIENT’S SPACE INCREASED BY
OVER 30%!!

CLIENT PROBLEM: The challenge with this project was creating a biophilic design solution and a feeling of being outdoors with limited space and limited ceiling weight limit, while also accommodating the clients request to cover the ugly piping while incorporating some biophilic design to bring the outdoors inside.

OUR SOLUTION: To create an upside down garden. We constructed lightweight grass panels and installed them upside-down to conserve space. We also used suspended swing seating to bring the fun of a park environment indoors.

THE RESULT: Our client saw an over 30% uptick in collaborative group meetings in the space, resulting in 12.5 percent more productivity in the teams who met there.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: HARLEM STAGE
One of the main goals at Horticultural Creations is community service projects. Giving back allows us to get to know a community and allows us work alongside our clients who also care about helping others.

Horticultural Creations was asked to partner with Harlem Stage to create a community garden for the local public-school students in the area. Harlem Stage is an uptown venue that for over 35 years has promoted the creative legacy of Harlem and artists of color from around the corner and across the globe. Their mission for creating this community student garden is to teach the local public-school students skills like responsibility and teamwork and improve understanding of personal responsibility which will encourage accountability to both them and their community.

A huge thank you to Harlem Stage for this amazing opportunity to work with the local community so the children can appreciate nature hands-on.

WE SAVED OUR CLIENT OVER 100K IN REPAIRS!!!
CLIENT PROBLEM: The fountain in this popular hotel event space sprung a massive leak that was endangering the parking garage beneath—potentially forcing the client to close the space for months while undertaking expensive repairs.
OUR SOLUTION: Rather than adding live plants and risking more water damage, we installed LED lights with acrylic rocks to emulate the waterfall effect. We also installed an elaborate lighting system to create customizable lighting effects for events.
THE RESULT: We helped our client keep their event space open while saving them 65% on their operating costs, also sparing them from more than $100K in repairs!

We did it for this large media company, whose previous vendor planted the wrong size plants and containers and did not provide correct maintenance care.
We removed all the old foliage, supplied the correct size plants for the existing planters, re-installed the irrigation system and structured a realistic maintenance program for the building to keep their employees happy hour space, looking great all year round.

CLIENT PROBLEM: Their existing green wall was buckling due to water damage and faulty irrigation and the plants were constantly dying and needed to be replaced frequently.
OUR SOLUTION: We filled the unlined planters with lifelike artificial plants, which reduced their need for watering and maintenance.
THE RESULT: Our one-time installation gave them a permanent, vibrant-looking wall arrangement that not only offered seasonal color but also saved them 90 percent on their recurring costs to maintain the wall
