This is Sigoni Macaroni artist, crocheter & mother. Her work is about helping women crochet for mental health.

I met her and her sweet son at a Starbucks before our photo session together. I loved hearing about her story and why she started her business & YouTube channel.

She’s passionate about crocheting and her work is so life giving. She’s launching a podcast on February 28th which I’m excited to listen to. If you’d love to try crochetting check out her page!

Hello Sweet Friends,

It’s so nice to see so many new faces here!
I wanted to take some time to share a little about me.

I’m originally from Long Island, New York. But I was born in Queens, NY by the Mets Shea Stadium. I am a Mets Fan for sure!

I’m a tea drinker. My most favorite tea is rose hips its got the sweet subtly flowery taste & is high in Vitamin C :)

I’m currently obsessed with Coco’s curry winter roasted chicken soup Lol. I get it every time.

I think I’m in my musical era as I am learning how to play the guitar and I really enjoy singing songs I make up based on what I am going through in life. I keep saying I’ve got to write them down as it’’s another form to express myself.

I love my dog Kingsa! He’s my best boy and I enjoy slow morning walks with him.

Erica told me that some of her favorite memories from this pregnancy is that her son, Teddy has loved to snuggle with her belly and listen for his baby brother. She said that both him and his sister can't wait to hold their brother and give him kisses on his cheek

It's the simple moments that are my favorite to photograph. Like the love shown for each other in the gentleness of holding hands.

Before this photo session, Abby told me that she would love having pictures that showed who her family truly was. She said it was important to her that they enjoyed themselves during the session.

Abby described how baking together and snuggling on the couch while reading Christmas books was meaningful to them because it's some of their favorite things to do together during the holidays.

It was such a joy to spend time with the Chasteen family while documenting their holiday traditions. Their candy cane cookies looked super cute too!

Before I had met the Hernandez family they had filled out a form from me in which they shared that that they prioritized making memories together. Right then, I knew they were my kind of people!

During our pre-session meet up they told me they enjoy hiking on the weekends and hanging out at home. As we planned our session together we decided to incorporate both.

I got to spend a full day with this sweet family exploring a trail in Okinawa and while they watched Star Wars, played at the park and roller skated together.

I loved being able to document some of those meaningful moments for them! They now have those memories preserved for a lifetime.

My most recent documentary style photo session was a grandmother and granddaughters session.

Diana had told me that her mom was visiting from California. She loved the idea of having some of her memories preserved of her mom and her daughters while she was in Okinawa.

We talked before the session about what it looked like when they were spending time together. She told me that they enjoyed playing outside as well as playing with dolls in their room. We planned a personalized photo session of them doing those things together.

I loved being able to document these sweet moments of them together❤️

Kingsa loves to be close to us. I feel like it's a reflection of how close we like to be with him too. My husband Keevin will play the guitar and Kingsa will often lay down next to him with his head on the guitar.

I took these photos right before Keevin went on a deployment because I knew this time would one day change. My husband would go on another deployment again and things would look differently for us. Taking this photo was a reminder of our current life, those little moments that mean something to me.

Happy 2023🎉! I wanted to introduce myself on here again 🙂

I'm Michelle Leon. The past couple of years I have developed a deep love for documentary storytelling. In my personal life it has allowed me to notice more of the moments that are meaningful to me. I love helping others document their meaningful moments too.

A little bit more about me: I'm from Long Island, New York. And it's still a shock to me that I now live in beautiful Okinawa. The military has moved my husband, me and my dog, Kingsa here for the next two years. We are excited to be enjoying our time here and we love exploring the island.

I'm also very excited to be offering documentary style photo sessions while I am here.
