As we gear up for a new set of shows, we're taking a moment to remember some of our all-time favorites from the past few years. This is also a unique view on our behind the scenes organization - rack dividers! These little heroes help us organize each show, character, and garment, ensuring smooth operations at BJC. When regal elegance meets craftsmanship excellence ⛪️

We're excited to share one of our favorite builds from Henry VIII; Cardinal Campeggio, the papal legate. The Cardinal's attire is a testament to our unwavering commitment to detail and artistry. The gracefully flowing train is strategically secured to the base jacket using a combination of snaps and hooks, ensuring wardrobe changes are effortless and seamless. The fashion fabric of the jacket was beautiful on both sides, so the design team chose to use the "wrong side" for the cumberbund and for internal contrast. This costume demands attention and respect, like the Cardinal himself!

Today's is our Summer Intern Leyanda!

During her time here Leyandra has proven to be an absolute gem. We applaud her ability to absorb information like a sponge, constantly seeking to learn and grow. Her thirst for knowledge and dedication to her craft have been inspiring. 🌟

Anne Boleyn, the queen of our heart 💛

Today, we're shining the spotlight on the remarkable Anne Boleyn and this magnificent gold dress featured in the production! Our team had the absolute pleasure of crafting several pieces for this stunning show, and we couldn't wait to share the intricate details of this breathtaking gown;

From the meticulous pattern matching across the bodice to the exquisite lacing and the beautifully designed faux chemise, every element of this costume was crafted with precision and dedication.

We have already teased one of the other looks we built for Anne Boleyn. Stay tuned for an in-depth look at more awe-inspiring Henry VIII costumes!

We are live, live, live, living for this dress! 💃

Check out this exquisite blue floral organza dress we had the pleasure of making this summer! Inspired by a vintage 50's cocktail dress, this garment boasts delicate ruching on the bodice to create a luxurious texture that perfectly complements the fabulous print. 😍

Shoutout to Costume Designer, Jen Moeller, whose creative genius brought this enchanting ensemble to life. BJC has had the opportunity to work with Jen before, such as on this past spring and on . We always love working with Jen and her team, we look forward to sharing more exciting Jen Moeller/BJC collaborations in the future!

Happy Opening Weekend, Here Lies Love!

We’re sew ready for the Funny Girl tour!

The first step BJC takes when intaking a new show is to select color matched thread for each fabric and trim. Due to our meticulous record keeping on previous builds we were able to quickly prepare and get to work right away! One of the many benefits of reordering with BJC! Here's a glimpse of our prep work. In this week dedicated to the details we must celebrate our Head Tailor Sibilla!

For this week's , we shine the spotlight on Sibilla, who joined our team earlier this year and has been instrumental in building our extraordinary Tailoring Department stitch by stitch. With her expertise, we've brought in a team of dedicated hands, whom she is personally training from tailoring apprentices to be full fledge bespoke Tailors, imparting in them with the invaluable knowledge of this craft. The wealth of information she brings to our shop is simply priceless, and we're immensely grateful to have her as part of our team. We're thrilled beyond words about the remarkable work we've been able to accomplish with Sibilla, and we can't contain our excitement for what lies ahead for our Tailors as they continue to grow under her guidance.

This week, we continue our journey of marveling at the intricate details that transform our favorite pieces from stunning to flawless. Our dedicated Tailoring Department collaborates closely with our creative teams, ensuring every element is meticulously placed, no matter how minuscule. These buttons, although non-functional, will be delicately fastened above the vents of tailcoats currently being worked on in the studio, adding an authentic touch of period accuracy. 🧵✨

When sterile meets style 🚑✨❤️

For todays BJC is taking another original build out of the vault! We're thrilled to share these stunning high fashion surgical gowns made for Amazon Video's latest show: Dead Ringers! While the show aired this past April, we originally made these surgical gowns back in 2021. Take a look at how the delicate bright red chiffon drapes beautifully to add that extra element of style to a typical gown. We're thrilled to finally be able to share these with you! Goes to show you never know what BJC has up our dazzling chiffon sleeves 😉

Step into the atelier of imagination, where our tailoring department turns visions into wearable works of art 🪡👌

Seeking the perfect costume fit? Look no further! Our team of skilled tailors specializes in crafting bespoke garments that embody the essence of each character. Every stitch and seam is meticulously tailored to ensure the utmost authenticity and stage-worthy impact. Just take a look at this up close shot of a piece currently in the works; The lapel is delicately pad stitched and edged with bias tape so our tailors have complete control over the shape of the lapel. Other basting threads are still in place for pinpoint precision as the garment is brought to a finish. We can't wait to share the full look, stay tuned!

This look is sure to turn heads 💞 Congrats again to KPOP Broadway for three Tony nominations, including Best Costume Design of a Musical! This ✨Super Star✨ number was worn by Luna, playing the character of MwE; a pop star who puts it all on the line for a special one-night only concert. The 'feathers' use a variety of textiles to create a rich texture, and each contain worbla so they could be literally molded to the bodysuit.
