We're two weeks away from our JCC Bocce Tournament! Are you ready to be the next bocce champion?

Grab your teammates and meet us at our bocce courts on Thursday, September 19th from 12-5 PM for a day of fun and a Taste of the Mediterranean food cuisine. At the event, we will honor Jennifer Sammartino-Mallen and Brian Lincer for their work in the community!

Proceeds from this event will benefit Sunrise Day Camp, a free camp for children with cancer and their siblings.

This month, we're highlighting our camp experiences as we celebrate our 95th anniversary... to 2020, when JCC Day Camp became one of the few Staten Island summer camps to reopen at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. We were proud that we were able to reopen safely with zero COVID cases and hundreds of happy campers!

We're excited to announce that we've been awarded three contracts from the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) to offer adolescent literacy, adult basic education/high school equivalency and English for speakers of other language programs on Staten Island! Components of the initiatives will include reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

Check out this video from our CEO Orit's recent mission to Israel, where she met with colleagues from local matnasim, which are community centers in Israel that function like JCCs in America do. As our JCC has done in past crises, staff of the matnasim are stepping up to help displaced Israelis from both the south and the north of the country. We were proud to help support their efforts by sending the donations we collected to buy supplies!
