Let’s swap and hang on 6/23 at M. Wells!
We will set up the following bins for:
Clothes by size - newborns to 12yrs old
Maternity
Feeding
Shoes
The idea is for parents, like us, to be able to pass on the clothes our little ones have outgrown without having to take pics of everything, post on FB, and expend time and effort to coordinate meet-up/pick-up. It's also an opportunity to pick up "next size up" items while saving money, recycling, and de-cluttering. So, the way it would work is:
1) Parents come by to drop off clothes in bins sorted by size
2) Parents pick-out a few items from their desired size bins.
3) Items bagged will NOT be saved for any sorting or sifting on premise once the event ends.
For this to work, it has to be somewhat of a community effort and fair give and take. We can do this once a month or once every two months to bring back clothes borrowed and cycle out to the next size up. You do not have to bring an item to pick from donated inventory, just please be mindful there may be other parents looking for the same sizes as well.
Please note: All clothes dropped off must be in good condition and laundered. Any clothes leftover will be packaged and donated to our roster of select charities. That being said, we do need help with this community initiative. We normally have a few parents who volunteer to sort and pack up, but could always use more help. Please let us know if you:
1) Have clothes to donate
2) Want to participate
3) Can volunteer time and lend a helping hand
See below info from Sarah @ MWells to sign up for a table to offload any “garage sale” items. There will be a separate section for the kids clothes swap. Set-up will be the same (bins organized by size) and like usual, it’s a community event, so we’ll need volunteers to assist! Please register via the link below to sell/swap/volunteer. 💗

Sunday, June 23rd M. Wells and City Owlets will host an LIC Garage Sale & Community Swap. During our markets at the restaurant over the years, we noticed among the crafty folks, their success at vending the old, the used, the overstock and the vintage and it was great fun sifting through the tables while listening to good music and chilling at the bar cart, grabbing lunch and hanging out.
In honor of our Annual Block Party (we'll reprogram that once we navigate the construction on the block!), we will have a DJ, Games, Raffles and other Activities all day and Linda puts together awesome Swaps, they are organized, helpful and a great way to meet neighbors.
