Yes, our Japanese Song Open Mic, presumably coming twice a year, is coming on Friday Dec 6!!

This is an excellent opportunity to show off your language skills, reveal your anime obsession, or indulge yourself with a memory of your home country.

Bring any instrument or karaoke track and/or your own voice. No need to sign up in advance. Just show up a bit early, throw $10 into the broken ukulele, write your name on the notebook, have free drinks and chill!

Bakithi Bio

Bakithi was born in South Africa and came to US to play bass with Paul Simon for his Graceland album and concert. His style is rooted in Africa, but shows influences of Jazz and Motown. He has played with many other great musicians, such as Joan Baez and Herbie Hancock. He has a signature U-bass made by Kala, which he will be demonstrating at the Ukehut clinic.

Bakithi has offered to sign any bass that is purchased at the clinic!

THIS SUNDAY 11/24, We will feature a wonderful player from Tahiti, Nico’O 🌴

This Tahiti based Basque ukulele player/singer will share his beautiful music during the 1st set to introduce himself to our NYC Ukehut community, which will lead to the 2nd set for the community to participate in the open mic session after the inspiration.
Nico’o’s wife, a beautiful dancer to join the main set for a song or two. Nico’O’ will be leaving soon, so please don’t miss this opportunity!

We'll play ukulele together at our Ukulele Play Along, looking at the music sheets on the screen.

And if you wish to share your songs, by all means! Please bring and share the sheets, play and sing the song on stage, and we will strum and sing with you. It would be great if you could send PDFs to [email protected] beforehand or bring them with you on your phone.

It's a fun evening for all-level ukulele players, hand clappers, and sing-alongers. $10 INCLUDES DRINKS this time! See you all there.
